Hope Reformed Church

The team has arrived safely and in good spirits in Memphis! We got a tour of our host church: Monument of Love Baptist Church. 

This morning we worshipped with our partner church Fellowship of Believers and then enjoyed some food!

This afternoon some of our group worked together to figure out what is needed to begin the rehabilitation process for the Fellowship of Believers church garage! They began to remove/repair the roof and will continue to work on this project throughout the week. 

Ending our night with some devotion + worship + debrief time at MOL church. We reflected on how we saw God today through different worship styles and people that we met. 

Getting to work today preparing to paint the FOB church parsonage. 

Ending a long day of service, laughter, and good food with a word from our lovely Dort and Bob on Ephesians 2 

Pastor Jackson flipping us some burgers and hotdogs for lunch today! 

We got to learn about one of our partner ministries today, Room In The Inn - Memphis. They shelter families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness. We got to help clean their future childcare and preschool room. 

Our beautiful and hardworking ladies of the trip finished painting the church parsonage this afternoon and it looks beautiful! 

Last night we got the honor of serving at one of our partner ministries, Calvary Rescue Mission. We got a tour of their facility and prepared a meal. We even got to introduce many people to the classic midwest dessert…. Scotcharoos! 

Today we are visiting the National Civil Rights Museum. We are standing underneath the sign of the motel where Dr. MLK Jr. was assassinated in 1968. 

After exploring Beale street, bass pro, and Peabody hotel we had a a sweet night of sharing about how God has moved in our lives. We will not forget our time here in Memphis and the new friends and connections that were formed🤎
