BBQ

by Jennifer LaVie | June 23, 2024 6:50 PM

After service we drove to a local park on the water and had a BBQ with our host church. We played a very intense game of volleyball to work up an appetite!

It was supposed to rain all day... but God. It started to sprinkle as we walked to our van to head home!

New Stairs

by Jennifer LaVie | June 25, 2024 3:36 PM

We worked so hard today, despite the rain, pressure washing the stairs and ramp to the church. Many boards needed replacing and we were able to make new stairs and secure boards that needed it, all for Jesus!

Connection

by Jennifer LaVie | June 25, 2024 9:54 PM

Tonight we had a potluck supper with our host church and enjoyed an evening of fellowship, laughter, worship, sharing God's word and opening up to one another. It has only been a few days but we are already feeling like family. Pastor Stoney said it best, "we go together like peanut butter and jelly."

Servant Heart

by Jennifer LaVie | June 26, 2024 7:08 AM

This morning we broke into teams to complete different projects. We are sorting donated items from Servant Heart Outreach and helping to create an inventory of items. Servant Heart is a ministry that aims to help those in need with clothing, household items and food.

We patched a hole on the side of the church building today. Some bees had made a home in there, but that didn't stop us!

After fixing the lighting on the main level of the church, installing an air conditioning unit at a church congregant's home, and re-shingling the roof of the church stoop, we enjoyed an amazing lobster dinner!!

We are so so grateful for the generosity to get us the lobsters on landing day and cook them for us too!! Thank you Billy and Carla!!

Outreach and Sunset

by Jennifer LaVie | June 26, 2024 11:28 PM

After our supper we drove to Charlottetown to serve a chili, cornbread and homemade cookies to some people experiencing homelessness and addictions. We broke into teams and prayed, while some of us served the meal.

Afterward we went to a beautiful beach and watched the sunset together! One of the church congregants came to meet us and brought us all "Canada" hats! What an amazing way to end our final day of ministry!
