Crosspoint Church of Silicon Valley

We have arrived on Oahu! We started the week at the Aloha Stadium Swap meet. It’s was an amazing opportunity to immerse ourselves in the Hawaiian culture through the delicious food and shopping vendors there.

In the afternoon we got to go meet with Pastor JT at Wai’anae Baptist Church. He welcomed us, gave us some history of the amazing city of Wai’anae, and also helped us prepare to lead for the Church’s service on Sunday morning.

This morning we got to lead the Sunday morning worship service at Waianae Baptist Church. 

A small group of us are serving with Waianae United Methodist Church throughout the week.  This morning we got to join them in worship.  It was such an amazing experience to hear God's Word read in English and Tongan and then be able to worship in both languages at once.

This afternoon we had the opportunity to share some of our testimonies at church in the park with Westside Alive ministries.

To end an amazing day we ended with a debrief at the beach. We got to dwell on the word and have a time of worship. 

We had so much fun sharing about how God is a friend who loves with the sweet kids.

Today some of us our helping at the Waianae Baptist Church food bank. We are sorting supplies and packing boxes that we will then be handing out tomorrow morning. 

Yesterday morning part of our team was able to help our host, Pu’u Kahea Confrence Center, clean up around camp. We were able to take many fallen leaves and twigs to clear the open areas around camp.

Taco Tuesday was celebrated and enjoyed by all!!

Today we worked at the food bank. We helped pass out the boxes that we packed yesterday and we helped pass out clothes. We also led the church service at the food bank. 

This morning at VBS we used an orange as an example of how when we are clothed in Christ, He keeps us afloat.  The kids saw that an orange with peel stays floating, but when you remove the peel it sinks.  Just like our relationship with Christ.  When we keep Him close and seek Him, we can stay afloat no matter what comes our way  When we stray away from Him ,we feel like we're drowning.

The kids were so excited to take a guess at what the orange would do and see they were right about the outcome!

We got to visit the boat harbor again this time to take the out of the encampment and to the dump. We started clearing out the area where the trash is stored on the encampment and will have it cleared out by tomorrow!

On our last day of service we were able to completely clear out the trash collected from the unhoused encampment. It was an amazing day of working together and seeing the finished product.

Today was our final day with Waianae United Methodist Church.  We wrapped up our week by getting the bathrooms cleaned and finishing the final touches on the doors we replaced.  It had been such on honor to love on this church this week.
