Ashland University Office of Christian Ministry

After arriving at San Juan and trying some delicious pinchos at Piñones, we got to see our lodging site and do our orientation meeting. Now we are on our way to Walmart!

Today we are meeting the congregation of Iglesia Metodista Carlos Wesley. Pastor David has been pastoring this church for two years and he just got appointed to continue for two more years. We are blessed to be serving him and his church. 

Today pastor David is teaching a lesson on Mark 6:1-13. After service, we are eating a delicious lunch and spending time with the community. 

After a long day, we get to relax at the beach. We have along week ahead. We are excited to serve Iglesia Metodista Carlos Wesley and the community around it. 

We will also be pressure washing and painting the pastoral house this week. There is lots of work to do!

We are almost done with painting and organizing the activities room. Some of the things we found will be donated on Thursday during our outreach by the train station. 

Today we are finishing the activities room and the kitchen. Everything looks so beautiful!

Some of us got to serve Pastor David by cleaning up his backyard. We removed tree trunks and smashed a wall. 

Today is the last day of work at the church, pastoral house, and pastor David’s house. God is doing amazing things through us this week. The congregation and Pastor David are extremely grateful for the work we’ve accomplished. 

After finishing up at the church and house, we got to go worship and pray at an elderly home. What a wonderful time we had with these amazing people!

We faced some adversity this morning due to a pipe in the kitchen breaking. We walked into a flooded kitchen, but we were still able to make 100 sandwiches to give out at the train station this morning. Thank you Lord!

Now we get to explore Puerto Rico! We accomplished God’s plan for us here and now we get to have some extra fun at the rainforest and beach. 

Today we went to San Juan and then to the airport. We truly mean it when we say, “It’s not good bye, but a see you later.” Thank you, Ashland University <3
