Battle Creek Friends Church

What a special time at church this morning. We got to reconnect with some familiar faces as well as new ones. It was a blessing to be prayed over by the congregation. 

This morning we were able to make sandwiches and snacks that will be taken out to the community throughout the week. 

This past Saturday we started our week with a chance to explore downtown Anchorage. We had our first encounter with the local animals. 

A project for the week is to build a playground for our partner church. We have spent a little bit each day between projects working on building it. We cannot wait to hear the squeals and giggles from the kids once we finish. 

This morning we had the opportunity to partner with a thrift shop where we sorted through donations and got items ready to be priced to be sent out to the floor. 

This afternoon we were able to visit a 100 year old gentleman from our partner church. We were able to help do some tasks around his house. The surroundings are beautiful, but perhaps more beautiful is being given the chance to "wash the feet" of a fellow servant of God. 

All week we have talked about how much we wanted to see a moose. We took one last chance by making a side trip to a boardwalk through the marsh. Through the whole walk each saying a silent prayer asking to see a moose, a last minute glance got us a full on show from a moose! Many smiles left that marsh.
