Central Church

We arrived at Monument of Love Baptist Church in Memphis. We ended the night with worship as we get ready to prepare our hearts to serve this week. 

Today we attended a church service at Spring of Life. This morning, we were immersed in the Ethiopian culture. We experienced such a unique way to worship that revealed God so much to us across the cultural and language boundaries. 

No more litter at the botanical garden!

Today we spent the morning doing landscaping around the church. Before we started this project we prayed for the ministry.

This afternoon we went to Limitbreakers Church and helped them clean up areas around the Church. Throughout this cleanup we made relationships with staff members of the church and help ready the church for worship.

Today, we worked with a Memphis organization that provides food to  vulnerable people in the community. We were afforded the opportunity to pray and even sing praise and blessings from God over these individuals. We encountered a woman who was racked with health issues, but through God's mighty power she has been healed and continues to praise and direct all her thoughts towards the Lord.

"Central church is serving the youth at m.a.m."!!!

Today, we served at the Memphis Athletic Ministries also known as MAM. We cleaned and organized  their storage closets and played basketball with the kids. We were enveloped in such a lighthearted community that focused on faith centered conversations with the kids. We saw the eagerness in the children to answer as many questions as they could about the bible story. 

We have been so blessed that God has given us this time to eat and  worship alongside the men of Calvary. Tonight we have had some of the most real and inspiring conversations this week. You could see God working through everyone in the room the whole time we were together!

Today we worked with Meals on Wheels through MIFA. We spent the afternoon driving around Memphis delivering meals to members of the community. As we dropped off the meals we were able to listen to stories, worship with them, and pray over them. 

This evening we were blessed with the opportunity to serve at Calvery Rescue Mission. As a team we prepared walking tacos to serve to the clients. Then got to spend time getting to know the clients.

Tonight we spent hours in prayer and worship. It's inspiring to see people so young be incredible examples of how the church should be. God is surely in this place Tonight!

For rec day we went to Village Creek State Park in Arkansas. We had so much fun swimming, playing, hiking and getting to spend time together. While we soaked up the sun we got to also have great fellowship.
