Sunday Service

by Zoe Pérez | November 19, 2023 12:51 PM

This morning, we had a wondeful time of fellowship with the local church. Worship was performed in both Spanish and English, and Pastor Gerardo brought the sermon. He spoke about gifts, talents, and what they look like in ministry. It was truly inspiring to hear him share the word of God.

Praying over the Bags!

We packed up all the groceries for food distribution that we will be doing this week. We ended this time praying over the bags since we not only want to bless them physically but also spiritually.

Jungle River Tour

by Zoe Pérez | November 20, 2023 5:57 PM

This afternoon we got the chance to explore the river! The team enjoyed a boat tour on the Sarapiquí River where we saw iguanas, native birds and monkeys in the trees! We tried local sweet bananas and rambutan fruit. Some of the team cooled off as we splashed around and laughed with each other on the boat.

Food Distribution

by Zoe Pérez | November 21, 2023 11:55 AM

Today we delivered the first bags of food. We visited 6 families; they told us about their testimonies, and how they have been growing in Jesus which was such a blessing for us. We also took time to pray for them and their needs.

Construction Group

by Zoe Pérez | November 21, 2023 6:25 PM

The project for this week is make the gym a little bit larger. Today we learned how to make concrete. We used rocks, sand and cement and mixed it using our own blood, sweat, and shovels. We also learned that the work that 5 of us can do in 10 minutes can actually be done in about 30 seconds by the pros! Team work makes the dream work!!!

VBS

by Zoe Pérez | November 21, 2023 6:58 PM

This afternoon was our first day of VBS. We had a great time on Bethany’s ship  learning about how God can give us strength when we feel powerless, just as the captain of the ship did with Paul when he was a prisoner. We also made some crafts and played with the kids.

Food Distribution day 2

by Zoe Pérez | November 22, 2023 7:20 PM

Today we visited 5 different families. Most of them go to the church where we are serving this week. We have learned a lot from their testimonies, and we are more than glad to be use by God to bless them through prayers and food.

Construction day 2

by Zoe Pérez | November 23, 2023 9:24 AM

Yesterday, we worked together to mix more material, and prepared the base to lift the pilares. Mixing the cement by hand made us grateful for the things we don’t even realize we have in the US.

Yesterday, we went to Bethany’s boat too, but this time we learned about Peter and keep our eyes on Jesus. It was so much fun, we sang some songs, and made some crafts to remember to keep walking in Jesus’ path. We love this community, and we love be able to play and share with all this kids!

Thanksgiving dinner

by Zoe Pérez | November 23, 2023 11:03 PM

The cooks prepared an amazing and delicious dinner for us to celebrate thanksgiving. It was a blessing to be able to celebrate thanksgiving, even though we are really far from home, we felt like at home.

Goodbye Service

by Zoe Pérez | November 23, 2023 11:21 PM

Today was our last day. We had a great time at the goodbye service. We had the opportunity to worship God together, and was really amazing. Pastor gave us a mug that has the name of our church, a team photo and some national symbols of Costa Rica. It was hard to say goodbye, but hopefully, we can see each other again someday.
