We Made it!!

We are so excited to be in Greece after months of planning! Can't wait to see what God has in store.  We had a wonderful dinner of some Greek classics and gelato!

We were blessed to be able to visit three islands, Hydra, Poros and Aegina. Such a wonderful time to spend together and see God's beauty!

Isthmus Canal

by Jess Janicki | October 19, 2024 4:36 PM

We stopped at the Isthmus Canal on our way to Corinth. The first attempt to make the Canal was the 7th century BC, but was completed in 1830. It's is 3.9 miles long.

Ancient Corinth

by Jess Janicki | October 19, 2024 4:40 PM

We spent time in Ancient Corinth, and a local friend and missionary joined us and shared more about the history of Corinth and the Apostle Paul. We read from Acts 18.

Acts of the Apostles 18:9-10 NLT

[9] One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! [10] For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many people in this city belong to me.”
This Verse stuck out because it's a great reminder to be fearless, even when it's scary, because God is with us.

Church!

by Jess Janicki | October 21, 2024 1:35 AM

Worship with the awesome church, Kypseli Evangelical. They have outgrown this space (they have 2 services in greek and 1 in Farsi) and are working on a new, bigger space. It was so fun to join them and then share some desserts after!

Time to Serve!

by Jess Janicki | October 23, 2024 1:39 PM

Our team split and we served at Helenic Ministries with 2 of their Ministries: Evripidpu which serves many people a hot meal, some kids programs and the gospel. And Good Samaritan which serves in such a holistic manner. They serve the refugee population by providing, clothes, medical, language, laundry and most importantly the Gospel.

We left Athens and headed to Meteora and Unesco World Heritage Site that houses 6 Greek Orthodox Churches. It was nice to spend time in prayer and be quiet with the Lord.

Old Synagogue in Veria

by Jess Janicki | November 7, 2024 9:12 AM

We started talking with a local, and he was able to call and get us into the old synagogue. It's not the original synagogue that Paul visited, but it is built on top. It also holds significance from world War 2

Philippi

by Jess Janicki | November 7, 2024 9:28 AM

We arrived in Philippi and had this amazing time of devotion and worship. The presence of the Holy spirit was so evident. While there were other visitors, no one came through the amphitheater while we worshipped, it was like us and God in a beautiful moment.

Goodbye Greece

by Jess Janicki | November 7, 2024 9:52 AM

We had an amazing journey learning more about Paul's journey through Greece. We grew together, and drew closer to God. We felt like we learned so much, and being able to see the Bible come to life is such a gift. We agree that when we read through Acts, Corinthians, Philippians, and Thessalonians, it will come to life in new ways.
Goodbye Greece
