The team has arrived! After a long day of travel, the team has eaten and will hit the hay very shortly to start fresh in the morning!

This morning the team attended mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. 

The team just completed shopping for this week’s ministry at New Horizon Youth Shelter. They will be preparing and serving breakfast and lunch for the unhoused community in Seattle. The students did a phenomenal job planning the meals, grocery shopping, and organizing for the meal service this week. 

This morning some of us are at New Horizons Youth shelter serving breakfast to the residents. 

This morning the team is helping to organize the food bank and work in the garden. The Storehouse ministry is so impressed with the team’s efficiency and hard work ethic. 

This morning we visited Pike Place market and put some gum on the world famous Seattle gum wall. 

This morning the team has been preparing and serving breakfast and lunch at New Horizons Youth Shelter. They’ve been connecting with young adults ages 18 to 25 at the shelter. After preparing and serving the community their meal, they spent time eating with them and learning their stories. It’s been such a special time to connect and share the heart of God. 

Today some of us went to Vine Maple Place to help around their campus. They help single parents that are experiencing or are about to experience homelessness. 

Tonight the team partnered with Reach Ministries to minister to the unhoused through serving food and prayer in downtown Seattle. 

Today the team will serve their final breakfast and lunch at New Horizons Youth Shelter. They are working diligently and joyfully to be Jesus’ hands and feet in this community. 

“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’ [Is 58:7] Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ [Prov 19:17]”

We are back at Vine Maple Place this morning finishing some projects. We are painting, cleaning and working on a concrete project for the dumpsters. 

During our lunch break today we decided to hang out at the local playground in Kent. Apparently a local company helped create the moon rover for the Apollo missions and now they have a park dedicated to it. We had a blast!

This evening we are helping serve food at Kent Lutheran Church with Help Us Serve Others Ministry.
