New Hope Church

We had the honor of worshiping with our host church, North Park Presbyterian. It was a unique way to see how other churches operate and have services!

The team was invited to enjoy Keith Turnbull’s property. We enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. 

This evening, the team joined North Park Church youth group. We enjoyed a time of food, fellowship, yard games, and a campfire. 

For our first workday, half of the New Hope team returned to Mr. Turnbull’s property to dredge the creek that feeds into his 5 acre lake. We dug down about 6-18 inches along approximately 100 feet of the creek.

New Hope spilt up into two groups. Group one went to the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank. The team redid the volunteer corner and some others helped out by counting bags of product. 

Today group one has the opportunity to help out Cornerstone Church. We did landscaping work in the front of the church, helped organize the nursery, and used teak oil on patio furniture. 

The team sorted multiple pallets of feminine hygiene products and reorganized them with like items. 

Our team  worked at the Light of Life Rescue Mission Food Pantry on Wednesday. We stocked, helped the people as they chose their food, and students had the opportunity to pray for several people. 

Mr. Turnbull offered to take us tubing after all our hard work digging on Monday. Quite refreshing and fun! 

The team had our rec day at Kennywood Park. Rollercoasters, food, and fun!

After the teams rec day we went to Primanti Bros. A Pittsburgh favorite, where they pile french fries and coleslaw on top of every sandwich.
