Riddle's Chapel

Our team from Riddle’s chapel has arrived and is ready for a week of service! Tonight Pastor Brian from Potomac Heights Baptist Church came by to introduce himself to the group. We are so grateful for this church’s hospitality. 

Started off our morning getting Dunkin Donuts before heading over to Metropolitan United Methodist Church. 

We went to David’s tent this afternoon, a 24/7 worship tent located in DC. Great time of worship! 

Tonight we partnered with Potomac Height’s youth group for pizza, ice cream and games. There was a pretty competitive gaga ball tournament, game of spoons, and touch football. Lots of fun all around! 

On Wednesday, around 550 members of the community come to Metropolitan UMC for a hot dinner. This morning our group worked with the church members at Metropolitan in order to begin preparing food bags for Wednesday. 

Each night this week a different small group from Potomac Heights will be preparing dinner and sharing a meal with our team. Last night we enjoyed wings, Mac and cheese, and Lasagna. We are very thankful for the food and fellowship with different members of the church!  

Another project we are tackling this week, is helping reorganizing Reverend Mason’s office. 

Tonight Pastor Brian’s small group provided us with a taco Tuesday dinner along with a worship night after. It was a great time of fellowship and praising the Lord! 

Throughout the week, parts of our team have gone out to do yard work for people in the community! Here is a picture of a group at Ms. Edith’s house helping sweep and rake. 

Celebrating Janie’s birthday with pizza and cupcakes with Metropolitan UMC before we pack food for tonight! 

Packaging 600 meals of ham, corn, and potatoes for the community. Dinner drive by starts at 4:30.

After all the work that went into prepping the dinner boxes, community members came through and collected the boxes in 10 minutes! Members of our team had opportunities to pray with people picking up food. 

It was our team from West Virginia’s first time taking the metro. We took it to get through the city during rec day!
