Getting Ready for the Work Ahead!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 2, 2023 3:05 PM

This morning we went to see the new church Pastor Elvis is building. He received us with a beautiful message of gratitude, and we reflected with him in how the church should be on the streets serving like Jesus did. We are excited to see what God has prepared for us and what other things we will learn along the way.

House Seeing

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 2, 2023 3:25 PM

This afternoon we visited some houses in different stages of construction and we will be working in a few of them. Join us this week in the progress we will be making helping out this community.

Improv Service

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 2, 2023 9:46 PM

Before dinner we had the opportunity to worship and share some testimonies about the work that God has done in our lives. We have decided to serve with the joy of the Lord, leave our expectations aside and follow his plan.

We are One in Christ

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 3, 2023 3:55 PM

Today we started our work at the construction sites. To our surprise, there was another small group of missionaries here too. We got together as one body (as Christ would like us to) to work at a few of the houses that needed help with construction. We can’t wait to see the end results and what other things God has to show us.

Continuing the Work!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 3, 2023 3:56 PM

This afternoon we continued filling out the foundation at our work site with cement and set up the rebar where it will go. We are happy because this is the start of a new home for a family.

Work Day: #2

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 4, 2023 3:47 PM

Today we continued to mix concrete to fill in the holes. A lot of shoveling was done today for that mixing. It was a bit cloudy and some rain fell, but that didn’t stop us! God’s work will be done!

Play Time!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 4, 2023 3:54 PM

While some of us were working, this wonderful little kid came to play with the others on break. He definitely stole our hearts and when it was time to go, he did not want us to leave. He even invented a hand shake with Graydon. It was lovely!

Work Day 2: Progress!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 5, 2023 3:52 PM

This morning we picked up where we left off yesterday for our project of the week. Progress can already be seen and we are so exited to see what we can accomplish through team work. We also had the opportunity to clean the rec center so the community can have a clean place for their future activities. Thanks to the contributions we have received we were able to get all the needed material for today.

Fellowship with the Community

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 5, 2023 4:19 PM

So while some of us continued to work in the construction site, some of the others got the opportunity to teach kids from the community how to do friendship bracelets. This was such a blessing.

Church Service

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 5, 2023 10:14 PM

After our work day was done, we came over to pastor Elvis’ church. We got the chance to worship, share our testimonies and hear the word of God together. It was truly a blessing to see how great our God is.

Kid Time!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 6, 2023 7:57 PM

Today some of us went off to finish at the site and the others had the opportunity to play with the kids. We played follow the leader, hide and seek and did some coloring too! It was such a nice and unforgettable time and so hard to say goodbye afterwards.

Rec. Time!

by Amanda Montanez Santiago | July 6, 2023 8:23 PM

After a long week of service, we took some time off at the beach afterwards. We also had the time to walk around Old San Juan. Everything was so beautiful!
