Today we are working at the ministry center for the OIUMC (Oklahoma Indian United Methodist Church). We are working on cabin #1 to give it a little makeover for the Annual Conference this summer. We are prepping for painting later this afternoon and cleaning and packing up some Frankoma pottery dishes that were given to them when the factory closed. This pottery was created by John Frank in 1933. It was made from a special clay found in Ado,Oklahoma.

Pastor July shared with us some of the Native American concerns in his church community. He was very interesting and we enjoyed his fellowship. Later that evening he came back and brought his son ,he so proudly talked about, for us to meet. He sang a song in his native tongue and prayed for us and our time here in Oklahoma.

We have three house projects that we are working on this week. There are 8 houses or cabins that are part of the Ministry campus for the OIUMC. It is their turn to host the annual meeting for all the churches this year. Our ministry project is to help get the cabins ready.

We enjoyed worshiping at Pastor Larry’s church. They sang several songs in different native languages as well as a few songs from the hymnal. It was a very unique experience. Pastor Larry spoke on Deuteronomy 30. Love the Lord and obey Him continually.

Ronda Bear founder of She Brews wanted to improve the quality of life by advocating for women struggling with reentering back into society successfully; to bring effective solutions to the cycle of recidivism by providing programs focused on social and economic change and community development. She Brews Coffee helps us do this.
The team enjoyed hanging out there, drinking delicious coffee, and they were impressed with the prayer closet she had in one corner of the shop.

We appreciated hearing the history behind Indian Tacos from a Native American lady named Trisha. Then we enjoyed the meal with Pastor Larry’s Church that night.

We have been blessed to have met so many new friends here in Tulsa, Oklahoma. As we left, a song was sung in their Native American dialect asking for God’s blessings to go with us.
