New Beginnings Community Church

After settling in from a long drive yesterday, the team had a phenomenal day serving Thanksgiving Brunch for 125 people at Hope City Church! Then, there was this trek to the top of "A" Mountain to pray for the City of Tucson! 

Preparation for the day begins in the Word of God! Thank you, Robert!

These bags have been filled with hygiene packs, snacks, water, socks, and personalized encouragement cards. Loading up the vans and preparing to visit several local parks with our leader, Faith.

We kicked off the first night of Parent's Night Out on Monday! What is Pastor Charlie doing with that succulent?

We made 600 of the 1200 Thanksgiving meals that were being prepared for all the Thanksgiving guests that will be at Gospel Rescue Mission this week! Amazing!

Each of the two teams took their turns preparing meals at Gospel Rescue Mission for Thanksgiving day.

...because why not? The whole event was just so cute! 

Preparing for the day ahead, serving at this future church plant, opening their doors in the near future.

Some of our students were hoping for the chance to do some yard work.

Little did we know, we would move close to 35 tons of rock during this project, landscaping the parkways all along this new store front for the church. This will be a much needed place for the immediate community in the southwest side of Tucson!

Ethan was a great speaker for our students on Day 3 at Parent's Night Out! The kids were so touched by their experience, they begged us to add a third night. Give the kids what they want!

On a side note, Ethan used a rose as his mic during the message. 

We worked together to make these travel kits as accessible as possible (free from individual packaging) for the guests who would receive them during their stay at Casa Alitas.

Charlie led a separate project with our students at Casa Alitas, sorting and organizing more supplies.

Black Rock was the perfect break after serving at Casa Alitas.

The boys caught up on football scores and checked in with their Fantasy Football leagues.

Thank you for the drinks, Pastor Jon! 

The staff at Casa Alitas said that the work we did saved them THIRTY DAYS of work! They were overwhelmingly grateful! 

We took a tour of the University of Arizona campus and saw this memorial to the entombed soldiers in the USS Arizona there in Pearl Harbor.

Cyndi & Charitie were SOOOO good to us this week! From those chewy chocolate chip cookies, to this spontaneous and extra special Thanksgiving meal, we were truly spoiled! Thank you, Cyndi and Charitie!

Shawn is our friend, seen here heading down the alley. He loved the cinnamon rolls, but he probably would have enjoyed Krispy Kreme just as much.
