Community Christian has arrived at our host church for the week Wintergarden Presbyterian. We are exited to start work tomorrow at homes and church’s around the area who are still dealing with hurricane damage.

Spent the morning at Wintersgarden Pantry breaking down some old shelves and building then installing new metal ones. We also spent some time cleaning and reinstalling the church sign.
The other half of our team headed out to a local community members home and helped put a tarp on her roof. Some of the boys also cleaned out her car and washed her dishes.
They came back and told the team that she was almost in tears because she was wheelchair bound and was just unable to keep up with all the cleaning required.
Sometimes the smallest thing like washing dishes makes the biggest difference.

Most of us are back at First Presbyterian this morning continuing demolition on the roof, painting and power washing.
A few more are headed up to Sarasota to deliver new appliances to a homeowner who lost everything to the hurricane.
Bring on day two!

Today we are back at First Presbyterian continuing roof demo, painting, and landscaping. The team is determined to finish the roof by the end of the day.
We had a wonderful worship last night and some great conversations and even a surprise birthday!!
As the leaders we have been so impressed to see the students jump into projects without hesitation and with such great attitudes.
Ready to finish strong tomorrow on our last service day.

Our final day of service kicked off by heading north to a University of Florida research farm to help them harvest strawberries.
We will then bring them back to Wintergarden Pantry, clean them and hand them out in food boxes this afternoon.
We picked more strawberries than we ate… pinky promise!
