Venture

For our first day serving in Anchorage our group is at New Hope Compassionate Ministries.  We will be helping prepare for tomorrow's food pantry give away and also painting the Food Pantry Managers office.

Some of our team spent the day organizing,  cleaning, sorting,  and painting at the ReMADE store in Anchorage.   This store is a creative nonprofit that is all about resale, repurposeing,  and renewing lives.  It was a blessing to work alongside this business as they work to bless so many others. 

This morning we are assisting with the weekly food pantry.  We are helping with shopping and carrying out food.  Visiting with the customers was such a blessing.   We also had the opportunity to pray with many of them.

The Unity Center is a ministry of the Chugach Covenant Church.  The church and its Unity Center have a focus on mission work and outreach.  The Unity Center is used to house missionaries and run outreach programs in one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Anchorage.   We have been able to help with several projects over the last two days.   Today included organizing a storage area and installing a ring security camera. 

This week our team got an extra opportunity to serve the eagle river community by helping with a Vacation Bible school! 

Our teams have had the opportunity to serve at a lot of local ministries this week! One of them is Bean’s Cafe. At Bean’s Cafe we help prepare food and pack lunches to serve the food insecure community in Alaska.

The Downtown Hope Center serves a hot lunch 7 days a week! This wouldn’t be possible without all our volunteers 💜 The team preps over 200 sandwiches, packs lunch bags and serves the meals to the women’s shelter & homeless.

Additional students and staff from our Venture team were blessed to help out at ReMADE this week.  They also prayed with Jenny, one of the founders for the leadership of this nonprofit and all the lives that are blessed because of it.

Today at Downtown Hope our team was able to help prepare lunch and feed some of the homeless community in Anchorage! We also served coffee and other items of need in the morning!

What….Snow in June?! Only in ALASKA

The team had an awesome time playing in over 4 ft of snow😀❄️

The team was taken on a hike through the beautiful Alaskan scenery.

We served along side Mr.George at beans cafe helping him bake goods that will be sold at a market this weekend and the earnings will feed directly back into their outreach ministry aiding those affected food insecurity
