FUMC Tulsa

This morning our team was blessed to hear a sermon from Pastor Dodd about how we have the keys to victory through the finished work of Jesus Christ! 

We are looking forward to applying the points that Pastor Dodd made this morning as we show up in this community with our source of Strength being the Lord, and our willingness to surrender to his strategy!! 

We are ready to subtract the distractions and be empowered to have kingdom impact in the city of Dolton this week!

We got to spend the afternoon praying over the different ministry sites that we will be serving at throughout the week. We also got to pray over the community and the group as a whole. We are so excited to see God work throughout the week as He grows, shapes, and is seen through us.

Tonight the crew heard an amazing sermon from Bethel Church! The Lord was moving in the hearts of the students as they made their way up to the altar to join together in meeting before Him. We are so thankful for the amazing leaders to guide the students along their spiritual journey this week!

Following our night of worship, the team enjoyed pizza and games with each other and other youth groups from around the community! 

Today we got to go to Restoration Ministries and serve by revamping their community garden. We were able to pull weeds, and put some soil down so that they can put new plants down.

This  hardworking group started off their morning picking up trash around Free N Deed, one our beloved community partners! God is moving in this place! WooHoo!

Some of the team took some extra time this morning to plant flowers in the pots for Miss Cynthia at Free N Deed! How beautiful!

So thankful we got to end the night in worship and fellowship. We are so thankful for our singers and band. It was amazing to see God work through each person's heart.

Today we got to go back to Restoration Ministries and work in their front garden. We are pulling weeds around the building and in the garden so the blooming flowers may come through. So blessed to be serving here again today! 

The team is preparing for clients to come through the Free-N-Deed Market.

God is good!  He provides food in the Dolton, IL community.

The group got to come along side master gardeners to replant new vegetables and fruits in the community garden. 

Started the morning off cleaning up Blackstone Park! 

Our Park District crew (Team B) did a great job cleaning up Blackstone Park this morning!

They had a quick moment of entertainment on the playground that they pulled weeds on before we left! 

After Team B finished at Blackstone Park, we ate lunch and quickly headed to Free N Deed to serve for the remainder of the day. We bagged fruits & veggies, stocked shelves, and shared stories with the staff and each other. These students are SO hardworking! Praise God for an amazing, productive day!

In the afternoon we got to water the plants in the community garden, as well as clean up around the community. So blessed to serve at Restoration Ministries 

As we start our last morning of ministry, this team moves full force into finishing the cleanup of Blackstone Community Park.  Their teamwork and positive attitudes are evidence of the joy the Lord has brought to us all this week!

The team pushed through to complete the project ahead of schedule! They worked so hard & gathered 26 bags of leaves! Go team! Now on to showers & the food pantry! Praise God for a productive morning!

Today we spent the day exploring the city that we have been serving in! Part of the group got to take a stop at Soldier Field! What an amazing day to immerse ourselves in the culture and community of this beautiful city!

The team enjoyed a wonderful day in Chicago! We started off the morning at the bean & ventured all over the city!

We said our goodbyes this morning.  They are on their way back to Oklahoma.  God has done great things in each person’s life.  They are excited to share what they did at Sunday church service.
