Augusta Christian School

It was so great to have the team finally arrive today! What a blessing to have Augusta Christian back in Appalachia! It didn't take us long to get right down to business with some great worship after a wonderful home cooked meal at Eva's BnB. It's gonna be a great week!!

It's always good when we have a team at Eva's. We always eat well. Here, Mr Tony is showing off some of Ms. Sandy's famous drop biscuits! What a treat!

Today (Monday) we served at a local Christian school, deep cleaning rooms in preparation for the students to return this week. We also left hand-written notes of encouragement to all the staff and students. It was such a joy to get to show Christ’s love through service in this way. 

Today (Monday) we helped out at God’s Grace Ministry filling food boxes. These boxes are such a blessing to the people here at McDowell County. Families that need them can come in and get them during the month. 

Today, we visited some local residents connected to our partners.  We listened to their stories, laughed and cried with them, and prayed over them. It was such a joy to get to share this time with them, and we can’t wait to see how God uses these moments!

Today, we are continuing to remove ceiling tiles at Living Waters to prepare for a new ceiling to be constructed. We may not get to see the finished product, but we’re happy to know that we were able to help!

We spent the morning putting together a grill and getting everything prepared for a block party, while the rest of the team finished at the baby pantry.  

Today, we served at a local YoungLife location. We leveled the ground of the unfinished basement and picked up trash so they can create a middle school ministry space. We are so happy knowing this will have an impact on the community for many years to come!

We spent yesterday helping out at Hands of Hope Ministries' Hope Chest. We sorted and organized clothing. The Hope Chest provides good clothes at very affordable prices. Not only do they provide clothing but they also have furniture and house goods. It was a very good and  productive day.
