We arrived in Dawson Springs around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. After we unpacked we decided to venture out and see the project we would be working on. Later we ate at Miss Becky’s Place. Some delicious home cookin’ was served at this quaint little restaurant.

We are staying at First Baptist Dawson Springs, who so graciously is opening their church fellowship center for the month of October for Long Term Recovery Volunteers. We attended Sunday School and church in the morning. The afternoon was spent praying over Dawson Springs.

One of the church members took us on a journey to the bluff where we could see where the tornado had ripped through parts of Dawson Springs.

The next adventure he took us on was to see a waterfall. Although the waterfall was dried up we did climb down among the rocks and see the beauty of the springs and caves that were below.

Early Monday morning we met at the house project to write scripture on the walls and floors along with singing praise throughout the house.

Today we were able to put in three windows and roof the entire house except for the two panels they were short on.

We were able to call several hundred people to ask if they still needed assistance due to the tornado. But more than just a call, we were able to pray for those and offer words of encouragement.

Before delivering our second load of appliances we went to the warehouse to build shelves for them to store the inventory for disaster relief victims.

Today the ladies got to go to Door of Hope Pregnancy Care Center where we got to see God’s hand at work helping young mothers during their time of need. We got to sort baby clothes for the young mothers to have and help with some office work.

I had such an Amazing time there being able to help with the house as well as getting to deliver appliances to those in need and getting to hear there stories and pray for them what an Amazing time.
