The team has arrived! We’ve started off the week by settling in at Uvalde Baptist and by playing in the rain! There has been nothing but laughter and joy since the team arrived— it’s going to be a good week!

Before church this morning we got the pleasure of hearing from Pastor Shawn, who is the lead pastor at our host church, Uvalde Baptist. He shared his testimony with us, shared about the church, and why our ministry here this week is so important.

This afternoon we headed downtown to "tent city" to hand out bags and spend time sharing Christ's love with the homeless population.
It was an eye-opening, overwhelming, and amazing time. We battled the heat to make sure the people we came into contact with knew that the Lord loved them.

We are ready for our first day of VBS! We can't wait to meet the kids and have an amazing time showing how awesome following Jesus is!

We had a great turnout for our first day of VBS today! We had over 30 kids and even some teenagers that came and sang songs, danced, learned about the story of Joseph, made crafts, played games, and had snacks with us. It was a great first day and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for tomorrow!

The afternoon was more relaxed. We debriefed the first day of VBS, got prepared for the next day, and spent time hanging out and bonding.
The girls are taking showers at the local YMCA. We thought it was a perfect photo opportunity.

We had an incredible time at our second day of VBS! We encouraged everyone to bring more friends with them today and we had at least 10 new students join the fun!

Though we had originally planned to only have kids under 12 at our VBS, quite a few teenagers showed up this week. So we changed up our plans and today had activities geared toward their age group! We are excited to see how God works through this group of students.

Everything ran smoothly today for our third day of VBS!
This week’s VBS is themed “Monumental” and they are studying the story of Joseph. In following with this theme, all of the skits and crafts are desert themed!

After VBS we took some time off from ministry to explore Houston. We went to the Galleria and got to see the Houston Water Wall! We had a great time hanging out and seeing the city.

Today was our final day of VBS and once again we had a blast! In our final assembly we drew names for our raffle. Kids had their names entered every time they brought a new kid to VBS. We had three big winners— one got some new sports equipment, one got headphones and a Bluetooth speaker, and one won a bike!
