We Have Arrived!!!

by Noah Pineault | June 19, 2022 10:47 PM

We arrived in Russellville safely! We unloaded and got settled into Center of the Mark Teen Center, where we will be staying for this week! We cant wait to see what God will do with us this week!!!

We Have Arrived!!!

A Gift to Our Father

by Noah Pineault | June 19, 2022 10:54 PM

This morning, we had Sunday School at the Teen Center with Will, the Director of the Teen Center. Will led a lesson asking us to consider God's character and attributes.  Joyce, his wife, wrote those on a canvas.  Then on another canvas, we wrote little notes to God, thanking Him for something special.  When we put the two canvases together, they made a Father's Day Card to our Heavenly Father!

Worship With a Challenge

by Noah Pineault | June 19, 2022 10:56 PM

This morning, we worshipped with one of the local churches in the area.  We found out that this church was working to help a family, that we also are helping!  They had decided to try to build a pole barn type of home and storage unit for her.  We were hoping to help the family with clean up - now we may get to help her with a new home!

The preacher spoke passionately about seeking the lost and urged the church to consider us as examples of people who were seeking those that are lost.  At the end of service, we were invited to come to the front of the church - and the church prayed over us and said a prayer of commissioning!  What a special day of worship with our brothers and sisters here in Kentucky!

Preparing With Worship and Prayer

by Noah Pineault | June 19, 2022 11:00 PM

This afternoon, we took a ride through some of the tornado-affected areas.  Even 6 months since the storm, we were still humbled by the damage.  We stopped at a church that was damaged and prayed for the local churches in Logan County, as they are recovering and re-engaging their communities.  Then we prayer walked and prayed for the city as a whole. We asked God to go before us this week and to prepare our hearts to serve those living in Russellville.  Another group of us sang worship songs in the town square.  May God hear our prayer for the city and county in powerful ways!

5 Minute Journals!

by Jadon Baldwin | June 20, 2022 10:57 PM

This morning we took some time before leaving for our service projects to complete an exercise: a five minute, non-stop time of writing out whatever was on our hearts and our thoughts. It was a very cool example of how the Spirit can move, and the Lord showed Himself clearly in some of these “streams of consciousness” - all in just five minutes!

Cleaning for Concerned Citizens!

by Jadon Baldwin | June 20, 2022 11:12 PM

Some of us went to Concerned Citizens, a local organization that helps their community by giving items to those in need, ministering to families, hosting summer camps, running an after school program, hosting various events for different holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving, and more!

They have strong community support and see a lot of donations streaming in and often struggle to find good places for them all!  So today, we helped them organize some of their storage areas to allow for even MORE ministry to happen! It was truly a blessing to hear about this organization and have an close-up look at the hand of God at work here.

Worship And Ice Cream!

by Gene Bracken | June 20, 2022 11:33 PM

After a strong day of work, at the Teen Center, we spent a great time in worship and devotion.  It is so special to worship with our new friends from Hope Church!  Soon after, we enjoyed some surprise ice cream!  We had so many laughs and fun!  It has been great serving today, as well as spending time growing closer together!

Tree Partners

by Gene Bracken | June 25, 2022 7:43 PM

One of the families we served this week had substantial tree damage from the tornado.  Massive oak trees were splintered and tangled up with each other.  These trees were in a field where the homeowner kept her horses, which could be dangerous to them.  When a previous PPM team worked with the homeowner, their Group Leader met a retired tree professional.  He agreed to get these tangled up trees on the ground - FOR FREE!  Dan is the sweetest man and really loves the Lord!  It was such an honor to work hard all day assisting him, especially since he ensured we were doing everything safely!  We wonder what other tangled up mess God could use us to clean up next...

Blessings In The Dark

by Gene Bracken | June 25, 2022 7:48 PM

Our host partner, Center of the Mark Ministries, has a community food pantry.  People can bring non-perishable food at any time.  And other people can pick some up, at any time.  We noticed that the food pantry was pretty low.  So, we did a late run to one of the local stores to stock it up.  The next day, someone came by to pick some food up.  Our Trip Leader asked if she needed something more.  We began bring a little of this and that from food we had on hand.  Then we all prayed for her and her husband, who has many health issues.  She hugged us all and told us how thankful she was!  Who knew a little late night food run could have such an impact on someone?  Who knows how else God could use something else simple to make a big difference?

Cleaning up

by Gene Bracken | June 25, 2022 11:29 PM

One of our projects was helping to clean up fallen trees at a local farm.  We learned that sometimes startling things like to hide in logs.  And we were reminded that the Day that Jesus crushed the serpent's head through His death and resurrection.  It was great to help a family clear up and to be reminded of an important truth!

Wow, I got a little teary eyed reading about what they are doing! God has a great way of using people to bless others and then those being served being a blessing to the servants. I can't wait to hear stories!
