After the team meeting, we spent some time with our Trip Leader cutting up strawberries.  We had lots of laughs and told several stories.  We are grateful that God is using us, as we prepare for breakfast!

Praying for Local Churches

by Gene Bracken | July 10, 2022 11:27 PM

Today, we took a brief tour of some of the tornado-affected areas in Logan County.  We heard about the effects of the tornado on families and on churches.

We then gathered in the parking lot of one of the churches damaged by the tornado and prayed specifically for them and for the other churches in Logan County.

Worshipping With Our Host Church

by Gene Bracken | July 11, 2022 12:18 AM

Today, we enjoyed Sunday School classes and worshipping with our host church.  Pastor Jered preached from Philippians 3.  He encouraged us to fight for our joy in Christ and to avoid joy killers. At the conclusion of the service, Pastor Jered asked us to come forward so the whole church could pray for us.

A Picture Of Partnership

by Gene Bracken | July 11, 2022 11:23 PM

Today, we served at Logan County Good Samaritan, a local food pantry and benevolence ministry.  They have over 30 local churches supporting them.  We quickly helped them receive donations from a large business and then did some clerical work.  Our PPM Staff reminded us that often times several little undone jobs end up being one huge nightmare.  We were grateful for an opportunity to take one of those little undone jobs for them today!  Later, we spent time listening to the stories of their clients.

Praying the Rain May Fall Again

by Gene Bracken | July 14, 2022 10:33 PM

Tonight, we had our final team meeting in a replica of the Red River Meeting House.  This was the site of the beginning of the Second Great Awakening and the camp meeting movement of revival meetings.  Our Trip Leader told us of some of the history of the Second Great Awakening and how a leading pastor, James McGreedy urged people to pray that revival "rain may fall again on Logan County."  We spent time asking God to renew us and to help us reach our friends, family, even enemies that may not know Jesus as Savior.
