Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church

The team arrived safe and sound in Miami Gardens this afternoon! After some good rest (and pizza) we are ready to take on this week!!! 

This afternoon the team is planning for VBS that begins tomorrow. We are super excited to get plugged in with the church community! 

Today, the team got to experience two separate services at Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church. The first was in English and the second was in Creole. It was an amazing experience to be apart of. We were so blessed to participate in the community and worship the Lord with them this morning. 

We have the opportunity to repaint some walls at Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church! We’re happy to be able to serve our partner church in this way!

Tonight, the team got to be a part of Bethel’s awesome VBS! There were more than eighty kids attending. We got to plan skits, make crafts, learn amazing Bible stories about Joseph, play games, and worship together. We are so thankful to the Lord for allowing us to connect with the kids at VBS this week. 

This morning, part of the team got to hand out food boxes to people in the community. More than one hundred bags and boxes were distributed with the help of our team! Such an amazing opportunity to see God at work. 

We were excited to serve dinner to a number of people this afternoon! We worked with Miami Rescue Mission, an organization founded about 100 years ago that provides warm meals to the homeless and offers them residential programs and employment.

This evening, the other half of team got to serve at Miami Rescue Mission. We were able to pass out over three hundred meals to some amazing individuals. We were so thankful to get to share God’s goodness with them! 

We worked with Food in the Hood again this morning. Some of us passed out bags of fresh produce, others worked in their garden, and the rest picked up trash. The people we worked with were so joyful!

Today, the team got to help Health in the Hood by doing some planting and weed picking. They grow fresh vegetables and herbs to hand out during their food distribution days. It was such an awesome experience. 

Tonight, Pastor PJ reminded us that through the challenges God is with us. He shared that God plans things ahead of time and has a purpose for everything we do. This trip has had so many awesome God moments and tonight we praise Him for the amazing ways He showed up for this team. 

We are forever thankful for this week. We are continuing to pray for all our partners and pastors down in South Florida. Now, we return home with full hearts. Our God is great; our God is awesome!
