We attended church at Hughes United Methodist this morning! Typically, there are two services, one in English and one Spanish, but today it was one bilingual service. David taught the children about Peter walking on water and how we need to keep our eyes on Jesus! We also got to lead worship for the church, which was such a blessing to be a part of!

We spent this afternoon exploring downtown Washington DC!
We got to see some of the nation’s capitol’s most famous landmarks, including the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. We also tracked down some great food trucks for dinner!

We saw the Washington Monument and went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History as well! There was a lot of walking and exploring, and it was a fun first day!

It was the first day of VBS today, and there were so many fun activities! The kids acted out the first seven days of when God made the world in theater class! We are so excited to spend time with the kids more tomorrow!

This morning, a small group of us headed to downtown DC to lead a two hour worship set at David’s Tent!
David’s Tent is an outdoor tent in the heart of DC that had been a place of 24/7 worship, 365 days a year, since 2015. We were honored to join in their mission today!

In the morning, we broke up into smaller groups for Bible Story Time! We talked about Creation and being made in God’s Image. We loved spending this intentional time sharing the Bible with them!

During missions time today, John spoke to the kids about his mission trips to various places around the world, including Costa Rica, Peru, and the Philippines.
When one kid asked John why he wanted to go on missions trips, the answer was simple - to tell people about Jesus!

At VBS today, one of the classes we had was art! We drew pictures and decorated crosses! There were a lot of sea shells and glue involved!

Tuesday night, we went to a baseball game! It was a fun time to just relax, get some merch, eat some ballpark food, and enjoy the game and a beautiful sunset.

Every day we have Bible Study where the kids learn about Jesus and how much he loves us! We also learned about how God made each of us for a purpose!

Some of the kid’s favorite part of VBS every day is a visit from their feathered friend Crazy Craig during drama.
Yesterday, Crazy Craig taught us about loving one another the way God loves us!

Our main point for the day was “I can trust God with my life.” John and Holden helped demonstrate trust with some blindfolded trust falls!

After VBS, we swung by a local ice cream shop and had some tasty treats!
On top of the amazing experiences we’ve had at VBS this week, we’ve loved forming bonds within our group and having times of fellowship and rest together.

The kids taught us a Rock Paper Scissors game called Pikachu. It became a popular activity whenever there was a moment to play!
