Memorial United Methodist Church

The team arrived here in Tulsa safe and sound this evening. Now, everyone is getting settled and preparing for tomorrow. Stay tuned for a group photo on tomorrow's entry!

Where to start? We are here in Tulsa partnering with Zion Community Church and today we got the opportunity to attend church and spend our morning with them in worship. 

In this photo, you will see that we are about to begin with our first outreach this afternoon, as we hand out 200 burgers to a community in north Tulsa! This will be awesome. 

Here is a line of families and kids that live in this community apartment complex ready to receive some yummy burgers. Right when we thought the line was getting shorter more people would come out!

The conversations and prayers that we got to have with these individuals and families not only impacted them but impacted us as well. 

What a great way to kick off our week here in Tulsa! 

Today, the team got to head down to Broken Arrow's local cemetery to watch a reenactment of the changing of the guards. Here, we got the chance to pray over the active duty military as well as ones who have passed.

Then, we got the chance to celebrate Memorial Day at the park and enjoy both the weather and the fellowship!

The team put their all into organizing a hallway of clothes full of unsorted supplies. Also, we got to organize clothes for Ronnie's Place across the street for a giveaway happening this weekend. 

All in all, the team tackled some major projects around the church!! Really awesome progress was made!

What an awesome Tuesday morning! We got to serve at The Dream Center in Tulsa. They are a food & clothing distribution center that also helps families in need with medical and some financial relief. 

We packed 4 palettes of food boxes that will go out soon!! So, that is about 288 boxes of food that get to serve families this week! What a blessing!!

Look at Gordon go! He got super soaked today as he power washed the huge side windows at Zion church and he did it with joy. 

Today, our team divided and concurred. We helped Gordon get the power washer going and the floors clean inside the church, while some were organizing queens in Zions clothing Center. 

We are proud of the teamwork that happened today that helped us accomplish so much. 

Today, the team tackled a ton of needed projects. We began at Sandy Springs apartments where we hung up and handed out flyers to the community for local church events. Then, we checked out the Zone, where Pastor K.J. runs an amazing non-profit after school program.

In the afternoon, the team had time for some more church projects. Mirrors where hung, trash was collected, floors were mopped, and closets were organized. Then, members from the church came to join us for a meal and fellowship. All in all, this day was full of hard work, good food, and good people!! 

Today, the team packed five more pallets of food boxes at the Dream Center! With this, the group reached a total of over 650 packed boxes this week that will go out to families in need!! We are so thankful for the amazing work the Dream Center is doing in the community.
