Fairview Village Church

We arrived without a hitch and were so glad to be able to meet our host pastor, settle in, and get oriented for the rest of the week! 

We kicked off our first day of VBS this morning. Our theme this week is “Make Waves”. 

One group spent the afternoon painting at our partner church, Sanctuary. The group enjoyed working together and seeing a difference! 

With a mixture of water, vinegar, and an occasional drop of sweat, all the pews were cleansed! 

Debriefing from the day’s activities, worshipping, and reflecting each evening is our rhythm this week. We are able to gather and consider where and how we experienced God. Our devotions have been centered on prayer. Time is given each night to journal and ponder all that God is doing in, through, and among us. 

Here is a group shot on the lawn of the state house. This is just one block from where Sanctuary Church gathers for corporate worship each week. We had a picnic together to meet and mingle our new friends in Christ. It was a beautiful afternoon in so many ways. 

Our second day of VBS was full of learning, games, crafts, and lots of dancing! 

It’s a thing. 

Part of our team helped assemble needed school supplies into these backpacks that will be given out soon to eager students preparing for the new school year!  

The painting is almost complete! The mountains and a fresh coat of white for all the benches and storage areas are finished. 

We wrapped up our VBS this morning. It was a joyful week of learning about Jesus! Pictured is a bit of the energy and excitement we’ve shared through song and dance. 

This afternoon, a group of us returned to the neighborhoods we put fliers in. We were able to collect donations for the Genesis Project and sort them! 

Prayers prayed. 

Projects completed. 

Emotions expressed. 

Well done good and faithful servants. 

For part of our rec day we completed a Providence Street Art scavenger hunt. Shout out to Pastor Tim for making this for us!
