Alcester Baptist Church Merge Youth Group

After a long travel day and some shopping downtown, we finally made it to Soldotna, our home away from home! We are all a little jet-lagged, but we are so so excited to see what the Lord is going to do this week!

This morning we enjoyed worship and a message at Peninsula Grace Church in Soldotna. We are very grateful for the hospitality provided by this church and it’s congregation. 

Today we went to the Homer Spit! The Spit is a stretch of land that juts out into the ocean. It is the halibut fishing capital of the world! We enjoyed some sweet fellowship, incredible food, and even had some nice shopping finds! Such a great way to start our week!

Last night we got to hang out with our friends at Peninsula Grace! We went to the lake and were challenged to build a cardboard boat. The goal was to see who could stay afloat the longest. We had to get very creative!

Today we were able to help out the staff at SRBC by cleaning, doing laundry, and maintenance at the beach!

Today, a group of us stayed at Peninsula Grace to help clean out and reorganize their pantry! It was so fun to have a sweet time of fellowship together doing this task!

At the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank we did some gardening in the green house, and helped stock the shelves for shoppers!

We helped sort and organize at Love INC again today! Small details make a big difference!

We have had a little time in the evenings to explore Soldotna, including a walk to the river to watch people fish!

A few extra minutes at Solid Rock were spent climbing the rock wall!

Tonight we got fellowship with our friends at Peninsula Grace! These guys did an amazing job grilling the food!

We went to the ocean in Kenai tonight, and of course we wanted to swim - even though it was cold!! 

This week we had the privilege of working with a new ministry partner, CEF! Child Evangelist Fellowship helps provide discipleship for teens and children in the local area as well as Alaskan villages! We are so honored to be a small part of what they do!

We got to worship at the Freedom House, a recovery house, and Scott shared a devotion. It was a very powerful morning, and such an encouraging example of freedom in Christ. We feel that we were the ones blessed and encouraged most!
