We arrived in Raleigh, North Carolina today and we are all settled in. We are so excited to worship in the morning!

It was a joy to worship at South Raleigh Bible Church this morning. It is a beautiful church and we were touched by Pastor David’s message from 1 Peter Chapter 5.

Today we began serving at Designed For Joy! This organization provides women in crisis with stability through immediate employment and support and we had the opportunity to work in production with these women today. They taught us how to make keychains, journals, jewelry, leather purses, and more!

In the afternoon part of our group headed over to Ship Community Outreach which serves the underserved populations of downtown Raleigh. A few of their main focuses include food insecurity, poverty alleviation, crime prevention, life skills training, and human trafficking intervention.

Anisa was so kind to give us a tour of their facility and she shared her testimony with us of how she came to serve in this ministry. Pastor Chris also shared his testimony with us and told us more about the ministry. Their stories were so powerful and inspiring to hear!

This morning we headed back to Designed For Joy to continue serving. While some of us continued working in production, another part of our crew wrote notes to women who are victims of human trafficking to take over to Ship Community Outreach.

Today we prepared another meal to share with the Designed For Joy community and we also had the opportunity to cook for the women across the street at the women’s center. Some of us went over there to serve food and it was a joy to get to know these women and listen to their stories!

This evening another part of our group headed over to Step Up, a ministry that trains people coming out of jail and various other circumstances to learn life skills alongside their families. We shared a meal together with the people there and witnessed what was being taught in the classrooms. The police and fire departments were also there for a community safety night for the children!

This morning a few of us went over to the women’s center to fold and organize clothes in their clothing closet. We also helped carry cases of water in that were donated for the women.

Today we served at Raleigh Rescue Mission, a ministry that is dedicated to serving those experiencing homelessness in the Raleigh area through the love of Christ. We organized their clothing closet and childrens closet of school supplies and materials.

We loaded up the vans and we’re on our way back to PA. We are grateful for all the relationships built this week and we are ready to go serve in our community back home!
