We’ve made it to Houston! After a long day of travel and a good nights rest we have settled in. We have completed orientation and are all very excited for the week ahead of us.

Day 1 - Preparing for Ministry

This afternoon we hit the town to shop for supplies. We packed Blessing Bags full of snacks, hygiene supplies, and socks to give out later this week to the local homeless community. These kids are organized packing machines!

Day 1 - Houston Food Bank

Tonight we processed over 7,500 food items on the late shift at the Houston Food Bank!

Fun Fact : The Houston Food Bank is the nations biggest food bank, providing food assistance to roughly 800,000 families in an average year.

Day 2 - Feeding His People

Half of our team joined Loaves and Fishes to help prep, box and pass out 340+ meals to the local homeless community here in Houston.

Day 2 - Food for the Community

Half our team joined Impact Houston Food Distribution to help distribute groceries to over 250+ participants. Impact Houston Food Distribution helps supplement groceries for families, churches, kid's homes, and homeless locals twice a week, helping anywhere from 600-1000 each week!

Day 2 - Blessing Bags

This team of teenagers hit downtown Houston today to pass out 45 Blessing Bags! We walked all over downtown, meet a lot of beautiful souls and prayed over their prayer request. While in tent city we had a chance to pray over the whole area.

Faith Center Food Distribution hosted half of our team this morning. We prepped food, restocked the store, and served the local community.

Day 3 - Food for Everyone

Loaves and Fishes Lunch Service - over 320+ meals prepared and shared with the local homeless community. Founder Rose Mary Badami answered the call to help the homeless in 1968. Rose Mary had one rule…everyone received food, everyone! Loaves and Fishes is open 6 days a week, serving 300+ adults two meals daily.

Waterwall Park in Uptown Houston was absolutely beautiful. We definitely had some students end up in the water….can you guess who?

Day 3 - Impacting Houston

The whole crew went back to Impact Houston Food Distribution last night. We loaded food up for over 300+ families, 45+ walk ups and 2 churches. Every family gets fresh produce, meat, milk, eggs, cheese, pantry products, bread and some sweets. We got to volunteer with another Youth Group from Oklahoma!

Day 4 - Team Time!

Today we started our morning as an entire team at Faith Center Food Distribution. Faith Center has set up their entire system to work like a store. Participants in need get to shop for clothes, household goods, cleaning items and food all for free. Shopping on their own allows participants to feel dignified and have a sense of normalcy during their hard times.

This afternoon we visited the Holocaust Museum Houston.
