Trinity Friends Church

After quite a long journey yesterday, we finally made it to Jackson and settled in for the night. 

Today had been an equally long, but wonderful, day!

We started out the morning worshipping with Hilltop Church. We are so excited to be partnering with them this week to serve the city of Jackson!

This afternoon we spent some time at the Civil Rights Museum before heading to Lowe's to pick up supplies for the week.

We spent all day today revamping the flower beds at the CareCenter men's home. We dug out all of the old bricks and shrubs, then laid railroad ties, fresh dirt, and new flowers. Not only did we enjoy the project, but we enjoyed working alongside each other, as well as some of the men from the home. 

We spent all day today loving on a wonderful member of the community, Ms. Miggins. She selflessly takes care of her grandchild, but her house was not in a functioning state. We helped her clean out all of her rooms in preparation for repairs and beautification that will come later on. It was a pleasure to meet Ms. Miggins!

We served alongside Hilltop Church and CareCenter ministries again today to reach the people of Jackson. Each week their food pantry serves 150 - 300 families. Not only are we passing out food, but we are also being intentional with our time by praying over each person. 

We joined in on Hilltop Church's outreach event, Soul Snatchers, today. Yesterday we went to Sam's and bought enough food for 400 people.
