Bethany Church

We arrived in Roseville, OH last night and got settled in. This morning we attended church at St. Paul United Methodist Church and afterwards the church was gracious to serve us lunch! We enjoyed getting to eat with them and getting to know them!

Tonight we kicked off our first night of VBS at the church! We are so excited to do children’s ministry this week! We had singing, games, crafts, and Bible story time! We had around 35 kids tonight and are praying more come out tomorrow! 

This morning, a group of us went to Trulight Ministries, a place where they serve hot breakfast every day to people in need in the community. We helped to prepare the breakfast and serve the people. This ministry is a huge blessing to the community and we are blessed to be able to help out! 

After breakfast, we helped clean, sort, and load items to take to the warehouse where they will keep donation items to be able to provide to the community! It was great teamwork! 

We also got to do some construction work at Trulight! We helped do some construction on the upstairs part of the warehouse which is going to be used as a new shelter for people in need to stay. 

A group of us did some weeding and power washing at Bethel Community Center today! Bethel is a center that does children's ministry and serves the community! We were glad to bless them today by doing this! 

Tonight we had night 2 of VBS. We got to do tie-dye shirts with all of the kids and it was a blast! 

On Monday and Tuesday, a group of us got to serve lunch at Christ Table. Christ Table provides hot meals to the community every day and even delivers meals to people's homes who need them. We were glad to be able to serve them! 

On Tuesday after we served breakfast at Trulight, we deep cleaned, scrubbed, and organized their food pantry and freezer. It was great to see it after it was all organized and it was great to be able to help in this way! 

This morning a group of us helped to clean up the town park. We cleaned up trash and did some weeding. Another group of us helped to paint the yellow curbs down Main Street in town! 

Today for our rec day we went tubing on the Licking River! It was awesome and we had such a great time just enjoying the sunshine and each other! We even got to float under the Y bridge! There are only 2 of their kind in the world! How cool! 

After tubing, we got to go to Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville, OH. This is a local 1950’s ice cream and diner! We enjoyed the ice cream after a hot day in the sun! 

Tonight was our last night of VBS! It was such a bittersweet night, but we are so grateful for the opportunity to love on these kids! We got to give a Bible to every kid and even got to give every kid a backpack with school supplies in it! We will remember the impact these kids had on us forever!
