Sand is used instead of salt to melt the ice on roads, parking lots, and walkways in Alaska. Wild animals like bears and moose would lick the salt, which would be hazardous to traffic, as cars would have to stop on the roads for them.
When the snow is all gone, people have to clean those places where the sand was spread. We've been able to help a couple of churches clean off the sand in their parking lots, which will make parking better and easier.

A few of us spent the morning taking apart an old lawnmower to make room in the church shed for a new one.
It was a great time bonding together as a team while serving the church here.

We helped clean up the parking lot of the church we are staying at. It's one of many ways the Lord used us to be a blessing to the church here in Alaska.

We did quite a bit of painting this week. Although we are not professional painters, it was great to see the difference from before and after.
We painted shelves, base boards, an office and more.

Praying Pelican Missions allows us to have a fun day after our four busy days of service. We decided to come to a retreat center in the middle of nowhere to rest and continue to bond God and each other.
We are surrounded by God's beautiful creation.
What an amazing God we serve!!
