We Arrived!

by Jake Headley | June 4, 2022 8:35 PM

We arrived safely this afternoon in Huntington, and shortly after went out for a great pre-trip meal together. We’re excited to see what God is going to do this week!

“There is Joy in the House of the Lord…”

by Jake Headley | June 5, 2022 12:59 PM

“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭122:1‬ ‭ESV‬‬
This morning, after a lovely breakfast, we were able to join the congregation of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene for service. It was such a joy to be with God’s people!

It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time

by Jake Headley | June 6, 2022 9:41 AM

This morning, we are serving at ReBuild, an organization seeking to reach their neighborhood for Christ. We made PB&J sandwiches to serve to the children at lunch!

“Re”inforcing the Floors

by Jake Headley | June 6, 2022 9:47 AM

Some of us are working to reinforce the floors and stairwell of a house currently being renovated at ReBuild. This house will include a commercial grade kitchen and a café that they can use to serve hot meals to the community.

It’s Lunchtime!

by Jake Headley | June 6, 2022 11:32 AM

We were blessed with the ability to serve the lunches we helped put together this morning to the children. There were smiles all around for PB&Js, and it was wonderful to serve them!

Devo at the Park: Redeeming Stories

by Jake Headley | June 6, 2022 8:16 PM

This evening, we went to Ritter Park to do our debrief and devotional. Our fearless Trip Leader, Tiffany, shared a devotional about God redeeming and using every part of our stories. It was such a blessing to listen to her speak!

“Re”folding and Distributing Clothes

by Jake Headley | June 7, 2022 4:00 PM

This morning, we folded and sorted clothes for a clothing giveaway at ReBuild that we helped with this afternoon. It was such a blessing to get to serve the community in this way today!

Making the Walls as Smooth as Glass

by Jake Headley | June 7, 2022 4:25 PM

While part of the group folded and sorted the clothes, another part of our group sanded down drywall and began painting in a recently renovated room in ReBuild’s main building.  While we may not have seen the room fully finished today, it is good to know that every part done is helping others and is another step towards sharing Jesus with the neighborhood.

A Clean Work Site Is a Safe Work Site

by Jake Headley | June 8, 2022 10:18 AM

This morning, we’re taking time to sweep the floors of the building we’ve been renovating this week. It’s amazing to see just how much we’ve accomplished so far!

This afternoon, we had the privilege of serving a community meal at ReBuild. It was very well attended, and it was a wonderful time to get to meet the community and learn their stories!

It’s the Little Things…

by Jake Headley | June 8, 2022 3:35 PM

This afternoon, we did touch-up work to the drywall and paint in the stairwell of ReBuild’s main building. Even though it didn’t seem like a major project in the moment, the owners were thrilled to see it done!

Finishing Touches

by Jake Headley | June 10, 2022 9:20 AM

Throughout the day today, we have been putting the finishing touches on all the projects we’ve done this week. It’s been amazing to see the difference that we can make in a week if we work together!

Devo at the Park: A Week of A Lifetime

by Jake Headley | June 10, 2022 9:25 AM

This evening, we officially closed out our trip by fellowship and worship down on the banks of the Ohio River. We took time to share memories, to celebrate how God has worked in us and through us this week, and to share what we’re going to do when we get back. It was such a blessed time to be together, catching even just a glimpse of what eternity will be!
