Artesia UMC (Koinonia Student Ministries)

This morning we were blessed to be able to attend the Sunday service at Vive City, the church we will be helping this week! We heard a beautiful message from Pastor Johnathan, and listened to incredible worship! 

We had a surprise run in with a native Artesian today as we went and explored Little Havana. What a small world! 

This morning we got to spend some time with Pastor Jonathan hearing about his personal story and how God brought him to Vive City Chapel. It was amazing to hear what God has done through him and the vision He’s given Pastor Jonathan for  Vive City Chapel. 

Today was our first day at Vive City, and man has it been a good one! We’ve had the pleasure of painting, pressure washing, and organizing. The work we’re doing today helps Vive City connect with the community around it, so that more people may come to know God. 

This morning we took a prayer walk through the community around Vive City. We prayed over the community and the church as a whole, and that God may love through here.

Today we continued our work at Vive City, with painting and power washing. What a great feeling it is to be able to help such an amazing church!

To close our day, we were blessed to be able to celebrate a birthday and a sweet 16 at that! What a joy it is to be able to serve and celebrate, all in the name of Jesus!

We had the pleasure of having Pastor Jonathan and his wife, Rebecca, join us for a time of fellowship during our birthday celebration. We were so touched this week by their dedication to follow the Lord's call. It is so clear that He is using them for such a time as this. As we closed the evening, some of our leaders spent time with Rebecca in a time of prayer. The Holy Spirit is working so powerfully through this Pastor and his wife and it has touched our team this week. 

Today we are spending the day working with Miami Rescue Mission, an organization serving the homeless in Miami. We have the opportunity to work with them today in their donation warehouse to help them prepare for upcoming outreach events. This morning we started with sorting toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shoes of all sizes that they will utilize to bless the people they serve!

We ended out trip with a day of rest. After working hard and serving the Lord this week, we were blessed enough to go to Hollywood Beach, and spend the day enjoying Gods creation. We finished this great day off with affirmations, letting others know the strengths they exude.
