Last night, our group arrived to Zion Community Church and got to hear from Pastors Shawn and Kujanga. They explained their vision for the church and how we play a part in that. Super excited for the week ahead!

This afternoon, after a great word from Pastor Kujanga at church, we headed straight to work at the building across the street. We met Vicky, who oversees this distribution center and future transitional living home for women and children. She shared her vision and got us energized to get to work right away!

We enjoyed group bonding as we all utilized different strengths, from leading to organization to determination. We know this is impactful work, because once we finish, this will be a beautiful refuge for people in need. It is easy to be joyful because of that!

As we have been working at Ronnie's Place this week, the most important thing we can do is cover the day in prayer. There is a lot of work that needs our focus and persistence, and we ask God for that each morning. We also get to pray for the future women and children that will be blessed by this ministry. It's so evident that God is listening by the amount of strength and freshness we receive each day.

Tuesday night we got to help put on The Bridge, which is a weekly outreach for kids who go to The Zone Academy. It is an opportunity to “bridge” kids from school to church. We ate pizza, watched a skit and heard about Jesus, and just had fun.

After we finished at Ronnie’s place, we went straight to work inside the nursery rooms within the church. Our goal this week has been to put some love back into Zion because of how much they have done in their community this summer. Working with the other PPM teams, we were able to get a lot of the church re painted!

Today we visited Greenwood Rising Museum, which shares the history of Black Wall Street and the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921. It just had its grand opening yesterday, so this was a huge privilege!
