The Team Arrived!

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 10, 2021 10:15 PM

We made it to the Mount Sion camp and got settled in. After going over the week’s plan, we spent the night rehearsing for tomorrow’s worship performance.

Never Give Up

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 11, 2021 12:56 PM

We joined the local service at the First Baptist Church of Humacao. Pastor Oscar preached about how God is our fortitude in all our adversities.  Just as Paul faced hardships in his ministry, the Lord gave him the strength to carry on. We too must not give up and trust that the Lord will always take care of His church.

Fellowship with Pastor Omar

After the church service and then a delicious lunch, we got to hear from Pastor Omar, his ministry, and his passion for serving God.

Down the Drain

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 12, 2021 1:06 PM

For our service projects, we split into two teams in order to work in two homes in need. We began our work on the first house clearing the drainage system.

Power Wash

Next, we power washed the walls and driveway, to get it ready for a new coat of paint. We also cleaned the gutters and balcony tiles.

Painting Pilar's Home

by Jose David Figueroa | July 13, 2021 12:10 PM

On Monday some of us went to the house of Pilar. Pila is a lady with a powerful testimony of God healing her sight. We started painting her house and power washing the driveway.

Doing some Patchwork!

by Jose David Figueroa | July 13, 2021 7:48 PM

In Pilar's house, we needed to fix a part of the house that needed some patching and masonry.

Pilar's House Day 2

by Jose David Figueroa | July 13, 2021 7:50 PM

On our second day, the group that went to Pilar's house painted the front of the house, the fence, and the patchwork. It was a busy day, but we got a lot done.

Getting to know Pilar and Arnaldo

by Jose David Figueroa | July 13, 2021 7:52 PM

Pilar and her husband Arnaldo are such wonderful people. We got to hear their stories and she even gave us some snacks. She was truly a blessing to our group. After our day of work, knowing not all of us will be back, we ended the day praying for them.

Day 2 - Weather Sealing

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 13, 2021 10:42 PM

On our second day of working at Francis’ house, we sealed the front doors. No more leaks from the rain in her home!

Lawn has Been Mowed

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 13, 2021 10:50 PM

One of the many projects we had was mowing Francis' backyard. It was an impressive sight, to see our youth working so hard for God’s glory.

Finishing Touches

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 13, 2021 10:55 PM

Following up on yesterday, when we power washed, we painted the walls that had been exposed by the humidity. With this, we finished providing care and maintenance to Francis's home.

Our Sister in Faith, Francis

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 13, 2021 11:01 PM

After we finished our work, we prayed for Francis and Emanuel. In return, she prayed for us before she left. She said she would never forget the kindness she had received and asked that God continues to use us to help others.

Sweet Treat at Cremaldi

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 13, 2021 11:06 PM

After a long day of work, we visited the famous ice cream shop in Fajardo. We tried their specialty, the fried ice cream. The shop owner was kind enough to gift us ice cream for those that could not come in person.

Working Dry in Naguabo

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 14, 2021 1:27 PM

The third home we worked on was in the municipality of Naguabo. It is known as the city of the “enchumbados”, or "city of the soaking wet" because of the constant rain.

Fortunately, we were able to perform our service before the surrounding rain caught us. We cleared the vegetation that was blocking the driveway, and cut through the creeping vines that blocked the windows. Juanita, the owner, thanked us from the bottom of her heart.

More Painting at Pilar's House

by Jose David Figueroa | July 14, 2021 4:30 PM

With most of the painting done and things looking good, we went back to Pilar's house to finish the job.

Finished!

by Jose David Figueroa | July 14, 2021 4:35 PM

It might seem small, but I know Pilar and Arnaldo were so grateful for the help we provided. We will continue praying for them!

Until next year!

by Jonathan Molinari Torruellas | July 17, 2021 12:11 AM

We went to Old San Juan to spend our final moments of this mission trip. We say farewell for now to all the friends we made in this journey. But we are proud of all the bridges built with the First Babtist Church of Humacao and their community.

Until next year!
