Denver Community Church

Today we are going over all of the final details of the trip. We've got an excellent staff and ministry partner, we can't wait. 

We are waiting for you and will see the team tomorrow morning at the San Diego Airport. 

As soon as the team arrived we got them started in ministry. We had the opportunity to serve a migrant shelter in Tijuana, a place housing 38 people from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Southern Mexico who are waiting to claim asylum in the United States. We brought them meat, fruits and vegetables for a week. 

During our visit to the shelter we learned that one of the guests was about to have a baby next week but didn’t have many things for the new baby. Upon hearing this the group insisted that we go and buy some stuff. So we did and it was such a great and fun blessing.

This morning we get the opportunity to perform a song during worship and two of the girls will be sharing a testimonial of what God has done in their lives. Very excited to meet our church partners and go to worship with them. 

We had a great morning worshipping with our partner church. Several of the girls shared stories of how God has worked in their lives and they shared a song with the congregation. 

Last night we had the opportunity to go to a soccer game and cheer on players from the church. They came from behind to win 3-2. 

The team had the opportunity to do food distribution for two families as well as our first kids program out in the community. We are looking forward to more of this in the days to come!

Peyton falsely accused Joe of being the killer in a game of mafia. See, it’s not all hard work on a mission trip. Sometimes we get to goof off. 

Today we had the opportunity paint a kids ministry area in the community on the inside and out. Tomorrow we will go back to finish up. 

Today we delivered our 6th dispencia, a gift basket. And much to our surprise we delivered it to Cesar, the church leader who had been helping us all week. We are thankful for his ministry to us while at the same time forgoing meeting his own needs. Blessed to be a blessing.

After enjoying her cooking all week we were sad to say goodbye to Mama Chia. 

We were happy to finish painting at the kids ministry site.
