Church of Christ at White Station

Today we arrived in Providence, RI!

As we overlooked the amazing city today we talked and learned about the history of Providence!

We are so excited to see how God uses us this week in Providence!!! :) 

The team is getting flyers ready to hand out to the neighborhood asking for food donations. The food collected will go to The Genesis Project. We are so excited to head out into the neighborhood!

The team is helping garden for West Broadway Neighborhood Association. We added wood chips to the garden plots and we were even able to taste some of the growing strawberries!

Pastor Caleb talked to the team about what it looks like to serve in the community. We had a discussion about how serving looks different in each town. We brainstormed and analyzed different ways we could love and serve the communities we encounter.

Tonight we had our first of 4 nights of VBS! We taught the children about Jesus parting the Red Sea, we sang, made bracelets, had a snack, and played games! 

We can’t wait to see how God uses us to reach these children about His love! 

Today we picked up all the canned food we raised for a local food pantry!

We organized, sorted it, and had SO much fun! We love giving back to the local community here in Rhode Island and we love to know that this food is going to help so many people!! 

After we had a delicious dinner we started prepping for our second night of VBS we’re going to learn about Jonah tonight! 

We can’t wait to teach these kids more about God’s love! 

Today we went into downtown Providence and handed out granola bars and water to the homeless in Providence! 

We were so blessed to meet so many people and share with them God’s love for them! 

Today we got to volunteer at the Providence Rescue Mission! This is where a lot of the homeless we met come for free meals and shelter every night!! 

It was incredible to see what the mission does and how it helps the people we met! 

We organized, cleaned at the mission, and had a lot of laughs too!!! 

It was a great afternoon! 

Tonight we had our third night of VBS! We talked about casting our nets into the water and trusting The Lord! 

We made a craft, played soccer outside, and had a snack! 

We had had so much fun singing and learning about God today with the kids!! 

Tomorrow’s VBS is going to be so much fun!! 

We had the wonderful opportunity to help landscape and prepare for The Feasts’ churches yearly block party!! 

We felt so grateful to lend a hand and prepare the church for their exciting day! 

We had our final night of VBS! We taught the kids about Jesus walking on the water and to keep our eyes on Him!! 

We made so many friends this week! Even though we will miss everyone we met, we know we were able to plant so many seeds this week showing each child that cane the love of God!!
