We Have Arrived!

by Brady New | July 15, 2019 10:34 AM

We've arrived in Accra, Ghana. Our flight was delayed, but the Lord got us here! We are in the Ghana Baptist Convention van traveling to Frankadua to get settled into the school. Prayer requests tonight are that we can get settled in and rested up! Thanks for your support and prayers!

Kids Ministry in Juapong!

by Brady New | July 16, 2019 11:39 AM

We took advantage of a slow morning to get rested from a long day of travel. After lunch, we went to Juapong for kid's ministry. Continue praying that God will work through us and in us and continue to give us energy for His glory.

Wednesday Morning Chapel!

by Brady New | July 17, 2019 8:28 AM

We started the morning with Wednesday chapel at the school! The students shared a worship song with us, and we shared a song with them. Then, Karissa did a devotion on Acts 7. Now, after chapel, the guys are doing construction on the new church site while the girls are sharing games with the students!

Learning from the Locals!

by Brady New | July 17, 2019 4:30 PM

The students taught our girls how to make bread and the guys went to "weed" the new church site meaning that they cleared out the tall weeds, so that the foundation can be laid. Thanks for your prayers. You can pray for a restful night as we are going on the excursion tomorrow with the students. We are going on a long drive and a short hike to see a waterfall!

Hiking to the Falls!

Good morning! We enjoyed a 3 hour drive to the Wli Waterfalls. We had a safe journey, and we are now about to start the hike to the falls!

Taking in the Beauty of Creation!

by Brady New | July 18, 2019 4:21 PM

Today was a dream come true as we hiked to the tallest waterfall in west Africa with the students and church members. The drive and the hike were definitely worth it! Pray for more rest tonight as we have another big day tomorrow.

Morning Ministry in Mpakadan!

by Brady New | July 19, 2019 9:22 AM

We spent the morning in Mpakadan doing kids ministry! We played games, sang songs, and did a lesson on David and Goliath. We have the afternoon off for rest, and Jeff is preaching at church tonight!

Friday Evening Church!

by Brady New | July 19, 2019 5:21 PM

We had church in the dark tonight, so I was unable to get any pictures of the team in church. I was only able to get Jeff, the preacher for tonight's sermon, because he had the light of a couple cell phones on him. We have a very busy weekend, so pray for rest tonight!

Saturday Seminar on Self-Worth!

by Brady New | July 20, 2019 8:31 AM

This morning we had the privilege of leading a seminar for the students at the school. We worshipped, talked about our worth as a child of God, and did the name on paper activity where everyone writes about one another to build each other up.

Coconut Break!

by Brady New | July 20, 2019 5:18 PM

This afternoon, Pastor Emmanuel bought the whole team coconuts, and we all partook! The coconuts gave us energy to do door to door evangelism and inviting people to church. Pray for church tomorrow as Brady is preaching the message, and the whole team prays to be helpful.

Sunday Morning Church!

by Brady New | July 21, 2019 8:33 AM

Happy church day from Ghana! We enjoyed a 4 hour service, and God was glorified! We are praying for our churches back home this afternoon. Now, we are back for lunch and rest, and we will return to Mpakadan this afternoon.

Back in Mpakadan!

by Brady New | July 21, 2019 5:57 PM

We visited Mpakadan for the 2nd time this afternoon. We altered our program for the Children's Ministry so that we could better serve their community. We sang songs and played the drum, played games, and loved on the kids there. Although we typically see a small language barrier at the village, we found our service to be fruitful for everyone present and we are so thankful for that!

Preparing and Praying for the Land!

by Brady New | July 22, 2019 8:23 AM

This morning, we had the privilege of going to the new church land for First Baptist Church Juapong and continued clearing the land of weeds so that the foundation can be laid. Pastor Emmanuel made us rakes  out of palm tree branches. After our work, we gathered together to pray over the land.

Saying Goodbye to Juapong!

by Brady New | July 22, 2019 5:23 PM

We said goodbye to Juapong this afternoon. On Saturday afternoon, we  walked through the neighborhood inviting people to church, and 5 people came because of our visits! So, today, we followed up with those 5 people by visiting their homes again. After that, we did our last kids ministry program. It is a sad goodbye, but we are so grateful for how the Lord used us this week through the ministry and how he worked on each of our hearts!

A Tough Goodbye and Heading to Accra!

by Brady New | July 23, 2019 7:54 AM

We said goodbye to the students at the school this morning as we packed up to head to Accra for the day. The students are so joyful all the time, and the way they worship has inspired us. We are sad to leave again, but we know the Lord is good and is taking care of them. Our flight leaves late tonight. We are excited to come home and see everyone! Thanks for all your prayers and support throughout this whole trip!
