Waiting for Asbury!by Rob | January 21, 2012 2:01 PM
The staff is prepared and anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Asbury team! We hope to have time to go by Dorothy Menzie's Orphanage before taking in some of the best bar-b-que in Belize. We'll travel up to Orange Walk early evening, settle into lodging and have our orientation meeting, with an introduction of new staff and new members within the Asbury team and of course Pastor Angel will be stopping by.
And we're off!by PPM Staff | January 21, 2012 10:33 PM
We arrived safely and made our way back to Orange Walk today, after a wonderful visit at the Orphanage in Belize City. The internet is not working very well, so I'll make this note short. Thanks for your prayers as we begin this exciting week!
Wonderful Sunday Serviceby Rob | January 22, 2012 12:06 PM
This morning we woke up to a great breakfast thanks to Pastor Angel and his congregation. We enjoyed a children's service - Damon did a great job leading that effort! It was great for many of us to reunite with the congregation!
Mission!by Rob | January 22, 2012 4:18 PM
After a delicious lunch we had some missions training from Praying Pelican Missions staff, followed by house to house visitation (announcing VBS, Services and the Dental Clinic) and a visit to the hospital. We are now preparing for the dedication service of the church building followed by home cooked local cuisine and fellowship!
Church Dedicationby Rob | January 23, 2012 9:41 PM
Last night the house was packed! We had the pleasure of participating in the dedication of the newly expanded facilities at Buen Pastor. We were delighted to have long term missionary (and church planter of Buen Pastor) "N.T. Dillinger" on hand. N.T. has been in Belize for over 40 years, and he filled in the history of Buen Pastor, and that helped us to see the part we have played! Pastor Harold shared a moving dedication, which ended in a gathering of stones to be placed at the church as a memorial.
1,000 Students!by Rob | January 23, 2012 9:45 PM
We had a great day! We started off at Louisiana Government school. David and Gary (our dentists) went class to class teaching hygiene and other important aspects of proper dental care. Gary's highlight at our evening meeting was the class where each student wanted a hug from him(!)
While the dentists were busy doing that, others were going class to class sharing Bible lessons and testimonies. Meanwhile, we were setting up our dental clinic for operation in the morning.
Picture here are students waiting to receive dental supplies.
Painting Projectby Rob | January 23, 2012 9:47 PM
This afternoon we painted the house of a widow who attends the church. We will continue for several days as we will be painting the inside and outside. In this picture you see Linda demonstrating to all of us what we are here to do in the midst of the work.....to touch others in the name of Christ. Linda prayed for a few family members at the site and they were obviously moved by the prayers and love.

The children of Belize are so welcoming. Here is one of our "painting helpers" from today's project.
Daily Reflectionby Rob | January 23, 2012 9:56 PM
Every day, no matter when we are finished with ministry, we take the time to share time with each other. During this daily de-briefing time we share the successes of the day, and how we saw the Lord moving, and how we joined Him! Prayer is a constant part of all we do....and we really can feel the prayer support of so many who are lifting up our trip and lifting up the Belizeans whom we serve - thanks!!
Another Great Day!by Rob | January 24, 2012 9:56 PM
Today continued ministry efforts on many fronts! We completely painted the interior of the home we started painting yesterday. Their are Belizean church members finishing the plastering on two exterior walls, which will be the last thing we paint. Pictured here are Emily and Katie painting the inside of the home.
Hard Work by the Dental Teamby Rob | January 24, 2012 10:00 PM
The dental team worked from early this morning until early evening. David concentrated on surgical needs and his father Gary performed restoration of teeth. Nurse Lupe from the Northern Regional Hospital was on hand with us all day, and we appreciate her oversight and sincere concern for people of Belize - it's a blessing to have Belizean leadership on hand with us!
Hundreds Touched by VBS!by Rob | January 24, 2012 10:02 PM
Vacation Bible School was held again today after school. The word gets out when you have a school of over 1,000 students! We were covered in kids! What an awesome time of lessons & fun!

Amazing Day!by Rob | January 25, 2012 8:36 PM
Wow! Did we ever have an amazing experience today! In honor of Asbury's four year anniversary of doing such an excellent job of partnering with Buen Pastor, and with the help of "Eddie" a local tour guide and new member of Buen Pastor we were able to travel by WATER to the Lamanai Mayan site! It was an incredible journey of adventure and wildlife, followed by an awesome tour of the site and a "USA" style bar-b-que lunch on the grounds at Lamanai.
The following are just a small example of the wildlife we were able to experience during this once in a lifetime experience!

Spider Monkey In the Boat!by Rob | January 25, 2012 8:39 PM
Yes, IN the boat! We pulled up to a marshy area, home to some spider monkeys, and one of them helped himself into the boat! He walked around, said hello, and made his way back off the bow and into the bush.

Afternoon Ministryby Rob | January 25, 2012 8:45 PM
40% of the country of Belize is set aside as wildlife reserves, and after experiencing God's creation in that wilderness this morning we were ready for more ministry. Vacation Bible School continued, along with Dental missions, Sports Ministry and participation in the service this evening at Buen Pastor.
School Assemblyby Rob | January 26, 2012 2:26 PM
We had a fantastic school assembly this morning! The team presented musical instruments being donated to the school & Pastor Harold was "Moses" during the lesson time! We continued with projects and dental work during the day, the trip is wrapping up just great!
Last Day of VBSby Rob | January 27, 2012 10:33 PM
Our last day of VBS was amazing with over 280 children coming out to enjoy the ministries! As the children made their way up the street from the church to the sports grounds - they blocked traffic!

Three cheers for our incredible dental team. These folks worked very hard every day, all day! A special thanks to Nurse Lupe (pictured center) for being such a wonderful help with preparation for the trip and for being on hand every day with a smile.

Nice job Ted!
Streams of Living Waterby Rob | January 27, 2012 10:59 PM
This is the well right outside of Jesus' house. The water is fresh and clear, and this well is still used by Jesus and his family. Asbury was challenged to "step it up" a notch this year - and they certainly did! Like the determination it must have taken to dig this well, the team reached in and gave it all, to tap into rivers of living water to share with others. Today we relaxed on the Caye and reflected on all that came forth, flowing from our Lord during this life changing week.
"He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."
~Jesus Christ

A Partnership Made by the Lordby Rob | January 31, 2012 1:57 PM
The light has expanded in both the United States, and in Belize, thanks to the dedication our two churches have to one another, praise the Lord! We look forward to a lifetime of growing memories, and growing light....
