Out with the Old....

by Katrina Hulme | March 11, 2019 1:22 PM

First step to a new roof... we have to get rid of the old roof!

The old roof was bent, rusted, and leaking. This new roof will be a huge blessing!

Out with the Old....

....In with the New!

by Katrina Hulme | March 11, 2019 1:24 PM

It is a team effort to get the new roof put on this home. Everyone is chipping in and finding their niche!

Homeowners, Natalia and Carlos, are very excited for their new roof! Natalia has lived here her whole life. We have been able to learn about their family and community of Palo Seco. Many other individuals have passed by to see what we are doing as well! We pray they can see us as Christ's hands and feet!

Ready, Set, Seal!

by Katrina Hulme | March 13, 2019 4:55 PM

Leaking cement roofs need to be sealed, but it must be done when it is dry & hot. After checking this morning, Juan & Raquel said their roof was dry enough to be sealed! Half our team headed over to begin the process.

His Plans, Not Ours

by Katrina Hulme | March 13, 2019 5:01 PM

We were able to get the first coat of sealing on the roof & it dried before lunch!

Unfortunately, it began to rain while we were attempting the second coat and we had to stop. While it was not what we had hoped for, Raquel's first response was "it is not our plans, but God's, so we'll wait". We are thankful that the first coat was able to dry though so that there is only 1 coat left and it will help protect their home from more leaks! Plus, we made new friends and shared an amazing meal with the homeowners. God is still good!

Sparkling Clean!

by Katrina Hulme | March 14, 2019 10:41 PM

PIB Rio Piedras has 3 church vans that they use to pick up about 50 kids for a Saturday ministry & a few on Sunday morning as well. These vans have a lot of use, so they needed a good cleaning both inside and out! We were happy to bless the church that does so much to bless others!

by Katrina Hulme | March 14, 2019 10:59 PM

As we reflected on our week tonight & celebrated all we accomplished through God's grace & strength, we also rejoiced over our new friendships!

The "4 sisters" (Kathy, Cynthia, Debby, & Jessica) and our staff have become a part of our group... and they all received honorary City on a Hill Church mission t-shirts!

Not Good-bye!

by Katrina Hulme | March 15, 2019 12:28 PM

As Pastora Laura thanked us & prayed for us, we knew that this isn't goodbye but a "see ya later"!
