by Gloria Mena | July 22, 2018 11:30 PM

This afternoon we had so much fun playing soccer with people from the community of Carbón.

The mejenga (soccer game) was full of mud, rain, and laughter. What a great way to start relationships!

We learned that everything we have gone through works for our good and how we can glorify God in any circumstance.

A Blessed Morning

by Gloria Mena | July 23, 2018 8:16 PM

We visited several families today and blessed each of them with a bag of groceries and a water filter.

We taught them how the water filters work and how in the same way Jesus can clean us.

It was so great to the see the joy on their faces when they received the food and filter!

Work Day #1

by Gloria Mena | July 23, 2018 8:19 PM

Today we started to build the kitchen for the local church we are serving at this week.

We also had the opportunity to help one of the members from the church by moving a pile of sand for them.

VBS Day #1

by Gloria Mena | July 23, 2018 8:21 PM

Drew taught us about Daniel and how he was faithful to God in hard situations.
We made some crafts with the kids and then went to the soccer field to play some games and ended the day with a swim in the river with the local kids.  We had a blast!

Work Day #2

by Gloria Mena | July 24, 2018 10:21 PM

Today we worked on 2 different projects.  Part of the team stayed at the church in order to continue working on the kitchen construction.

The other part of the team went to help one of ladies from church, this time we finished up moving the construction materials for them.

We are exhausted, but it's worth it!

VBS #2

by Gloria Mena | July 24, 2018 10:46 PM

This afternoon we taught the kids who came to VBS about Daniel and his friends and how God protected them just because they decided to be obedient. If we trust God we don't have to be afraid.

Teamwork

by Gloria Mena | July 25, 2018 6:13 PM

Last night Pastor Horman taught us that it doesn't matter who you are working with, if you give your best everything is possible.

He also spoiled us by sharing ice cream and soda.

What a fun way to finish the day!

Pure Joy

by Gloria Mena | July 25, 2018 6:38 PM

Excitement, thankfulness, joy, and blessing can be seen in the faces of the children that received food this morning.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to be part of this.

"See You Later" Service

by Gloria Mena | July 27, 2018 12:13 AM

We could see God through many different ways this week.  Saying "thank you" to the church is not enough.  The sisters and brothers have surrounded us with real love, the love that definitely comes from Jesus.

We are definitely going to miss them.
