Community Church of Columbus

After a long, 2 day trek, it was so nice to arrive at our home away from home for a while! We even got to enjoy some time at the beach before settling in!

We finished the gut out process of our first home today! We had to rip down moldy ceilings, take out water damaged kitchen cabinetry, and, the hardest or all, remove tile from the bathrooms. 

It was a long day filled with hard work, but it feels so nice to have accomplished so much today. The homeowner was so grateful...she even bought us pizza!

We spent out morning cleaning out a homeowner's storage barn. We helped her sort through her belongings. We have been deeply moved by the positivity of the people we have interacted with this week. Many of these families lost everything, but they all speak only of hope and positivity.

We made sure to make time for pray over the family before leaving today. 

Melissa gave us hugs and thanked us individually. We were blessed by these new friends.

We outfitted our vans with some lovely Texas decor!

We spent our afternoon gutting out another house. We got a lot done this afternoon, but have a lot more to go tomorrow!

What a day. We went back to the house we worked on yesterday afternoon to continue the complete gutting process. We finished riopping out the drywall, ceilings, appliances, and cabinetry. The other big project was to remove all of the insulation. This was a long process! We got so much done!

The garbage truck came by to pick up the trash. It was so mesmerizing to watch!
