Calvary Rathdrum

On Monday we started with clearing trees and cleaning up the church. A lot of trees had fallen on the churches storage units and we helped clear them all off. We might have had too much fun with the chainsaws. 

We had an AWESOME Halloween. Some of us got to go to a school and help out with Character Day, to instill a love of reading to children by reading to them. The kids then had a parade and we got to see their awesome costumes and it was just super cute! 

The rest of us stayed back at the church getting the church ready to be painted and doing some more landscaping and clean up. 

That evening, we had the opportunity to lead their bible study and worship. It was so cool getting to worship with believers in another culture and even another language. Mike preached through Romans 5, and did an amazing job teaching the truths laid out for us in that chapter.

Throughout the week Austin has taken it upon himself to Learn Creol. Pastor David was so impressed by his desire to learn that he called him in front of the church and had him say the phrases he had learned!

Today we had the chance to go back to MCI, or Miami Children's Initiative, and work in their after school program called project Promise. We got to work in the classrooms and help teach the kids. It was so fun and super cool to spend more time with these kids.
