We made it!

by Kelsi Elkins | June 9, 2018 11:47 PM

After a full day of travelling, we are so excited to finally be in Memphis. We have fueled up on Gus's Fried Chicken and are ready for what God has in store for us this week!

We made it!

God is with us!

by Kelsi Elkins | June 10, 2018 11:14 PM

Today was an amazing day of worship with our new found family at Dean Hill Baptist Church. The songs, prayers, message, and fellowship all reminded us that God is present and working on this trip. We are incredibly grateful for the members of Dean Hill that we can now call our life-long friends! Praise God for an awesome day of worship!

Prayer Walking

by Kelsi Elkins | June 10, 2018 11:57 PM

We make plans in advance, but sometimes God has other plans for us that are even better. This afternoon, we were able to spend some time prayer walking on the bridge across the Mississippi River looking into downtown Memphis. Praying prepared our hearts and opened our eyes to what God wants to show us this week.

Officer Awkward

by Kelsi Elkins | June 11, 2018 12:06 AM

After just finishing our walk across the bridge, we met Officer Awkward. The passion she has for this city and Jesus was very evident. We are thankful for the time of prayer we had with her. And we will continue to pray for her and the rest of the police department here in Memphis and throughout our country.

Views from the River

by Kelsi Elkins | June 11, 2018 12:09 AM

Today God let us look into downtown Memphis to prepare us for all the ways that He will work in and through us this week. Pray for us as we start our first day of serving tomorrow morning right in the heart of downtown.

For the next 3 mornings, we will spent our time preparing and serving food for the homeless population of Memphis at St. Vincent DePaul Food Mission. This morning, we were able to successfully feed 160 hungry people! We look forward to another morning serving this community.

Invitation to VBS

by Kelsi Elkins | June 11, 2018 11:43 PM

Tonight was the first successful night of VBS at Dean Hill. Prior to the event, our team was able to go out with Pastor Bryant into a community apartment complex to personally invite everyone to come to the VBS. We were able to interact with many people and families creating some pretty awesome conversations about our faith.

We are back at this great place! By today, we already have had a taste of the rhythm of the work, a lot of sandwiches are being made, juices mixed and plates served! It's a TEAM effort! And we love it! Keep praying for us!

Not only were we able to serve a meal to the men but we were also able to worship along side them in their daily chapel service. We praised and heard testimonies. Bunny stepped out in faith and gave her testimony. Our evening was well spent getting to hear the future of this ministry and the stories of these men.

There was also lots of hard work! But as a team, anything is possible! Like a bunch of little ants working together, we moved the picnic tables for them!

It was a looong day of service. But was more than worth it!

Day full of fun

by Kelsi Elkins | June 15, 2018 12:10 AM

This week has been an amazing week! We have seen God work in many ways and we are so grateful for the time we spent serving in Memphis. After a long week of working for the Lord, today we got to have a little fun in Memphis! We started at the National Civil Rights Museum, ate lunch on the famous Beale Street, and finished up at the zoo! Praise God for another good day!

Ps. Dyer's Burgers' century old grease was pretty good!
