The team began their first day of ministry by canvassing the community of McKees Rocks and promoting the Kids Meal Network. Then they headed over to the Northview Heights community to serve at the Kids Meal Network on the Northside of Pittsburgh. After lunch the students were able to play kick with the kids in the community!

The team began another day of ministry by walking through the community of Northview Heights meeting with people, getting to know more about the area and offering to pray with whoever accepted the invitation. The students were bold and prayed unashamedly in the name of Jesus. Team member Jonah Davis was grateful to share his thoughts on how he saw God move today.
“Today I prayed for a Muslim man. I hadn’t realized that he was a Muslim until Kyrie told me. I had a strong feeling that I needed to pray for him. At first, he didn’t understand that I was asking if I could pray with him because he didn’t know much English. Eventually, I explained that I wanted to pray for him with hand signals. So I started praying with him and began my prayer with, “Dear Jesus”.
He was thankful that I had stopped to pray with him and he didn’t stop me when I started praying to God. I felt extremely successful and happy after praying for him. That was probably the most important moment for me today”.

The Kids Meal Network is a summer meal program put on by the United Methodist church in the Greater Pittsburgh area. When summer time comes around many children are left without the one guaranteed meal of the day, lunch. The Kids Meal Network meets this need and serves more than 21,000 meals in a summer. The team was able to commune with the youth in Northview Heights over lunch before going out to play basketball, kickball and give plenty of piggyback rides! Continue to pray for the team as the week goes on!

The team began their last day in Pittsburgh by lifting the city up in prayer. Students prayed for safety and for revival to be ignited in the city. Praying that starting in North View Heights and then into all of Pittsburgh that God would move mightily in this city.
Although today is their REC Day the team took the challenge of asking God to present them with an opportunity to share the Good News with someone today! The team is currently enjoying their REC Day at Sandcastle Waterpark in Homestead, PA!
