We have arrived!

by Team | June 20, 2011 1:34 PM

Our team has made it safely to Belize and we have already been busy. After we landed, we were treated to a traditional Belizean BBQ and then spent a couple hours at an orphanage in the city. We were very blessed to have had an opportunity to love on these children even if for a short time. We then traveled west to the beautiful community of San Ignacio which will be our home for the next week. After another amazing authentic Belizean meal for dinner, we gathered to worship, pray, and prepare for the week of ministry ahead of us. Thank you for praying for our team; we are excited to share more pictures and update throughout the week!

First full day

by Team | June 21, 2011 10:27 AM

Yesterday was a busy day of ministry here in Belize! We began with school ministry in a local primary school where we shared bible stories in the classrooms, songs, crafts, and sports outside. God’s love was shown to us in a very big way through the time spent with these beautiful children in their school! After lunch we went to the Life Ministries church in San Ignacio who we are partnering with in ministry this week to visit homes and begin building relationships with people in the community. We also invited folks to attend scheduled church and VBS events that our team will be a part of this week. This afternoon was our first day of VBS and we had a great turnout of Belizean children. This evening after dinner our team led a spirit-filled revival / street evangelism service in Santa Elena. We shared music, scripture, and many of our team shared their testimony. Thank you for your continued prayers…keep it up!

Ministry is happening

by Team | June 22, 2011 1:53 PM

God is using our team in big ways this week and our lives have been touched by the people and ministry happening so far this week in Belize! Yesterday was a full work day and we are making significant progress on the security fence that we are building outside of the church. As expected, even more children came to VBS in the afternoon and we thanked God for every one of them. Last night we experienced a spirit filled Belizean worship service. Many youth from our team shared their testimony and we were honored to have worshiped our God alongside our brothers and sisters from Life Ministries of San Ignacio. Thank you for your prayers!

Wrapping Up

by Team | June 23, 2011 3:18 PM

We’ve passed the halfway point of our trip and today will be our last day of hard work and ministry. Although the time has passed very quickly, we are amazed at how much our team was able to accomplish this week, all for God’s glory! The fencing project at the church is nearing completion and this afternoon will be our last day of VBS in the San Ignacio community. We've moved some of our children's ministry to a nearby park which has been a tremendous blessing, not to mention an ideal location for water ballooning! Tomorrow we plan on visiting some nearby Mayan ruins as well as to explore downtown San Ignacio. We have so many stories to share about how we experienced God’s love this week and we can’t wait to share them with everyone back home in a few short days…keep prayin’!

Final day - Cayo District

by Team | June 24, 2011 3:49 PM

oday is our last day in Belize and we had a fantastic time exploring. This morning we visited the ancient ruins at Xunatunich, learned about Mayan culture and history, and climbed to the top of the highest ruins. After lunch, we cooled off in a pool at a nearby resort and are unwinding and debriefing a week of ministry at a restaurant in San Ignacio this evening. We travel back to the States tomorrow morning, please pray for safe travels and we look forward to seeing friends and family and sharing the many God stories with all of you soon!
