The Archbold Evangelical Church youth group arrived at the Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh at about 6:30 p.m. The team is excited to see what the Lord has in store for them this week in the beautiful city of Pittsburgh!

What a morning of worship outside and in the North View Heights community. Much passion and much love...

For the last couple nights we've had very intentional group time. We've found the group loved sharing and really encouraging each other. Many gifts and talents are already being exercised this week.
Perspectives have already changed and growth is occurring. The challenging question we pull from our morning devotional is "why are we really here?" And that prayer (mostly) does not come without action or God INFUSING us with vision.
Much more to discover this week...

The morning began at the community of Northview Heights where the team went door to door to invite children to the free lunch program that begins Wednesday. The team was able to interact with many of the community members. After canvassing, the team left to do some team bonding by kayaking in the Allegheny River.

After kayaking on the Allegheny River the team headed down to “The Point” to have some down time! Here we met Thomas who was the biggest ball of energy! To finish off our night we went to the Pittsburgh Famous Primanti BROS.

Today we delve into the bulk of our ministry. For the next three days, morning and afternoon we're going to be working with a very special community, North View Hieghts.
Today we plan to do some more canvassing for the Kids Meal Network as well as beginning prayer walking and a work project around Church of our Savoir within the community.

An exhausting day, but a great day! After our usual morning devotion and breakfast we went out to our site and spent the morning promoting the Kids Meal Network. This time we took a little more time to pray with people and be intentional with having conversations.
Many were accepting of our prayers or at least said thank you, many were also simply curious about what we were doing and why, so we got to tell them about our Found Joy.
In the afternoon we played soccer, basketball, walked and talked, gave TONS of piggy back rides. The kids were very accepting of the love and attention we were ready to give them. Hugs and hands held were common with all of us.
Blessings back home...we'll check in with a student later this evening and have them share an experience or two throughout the their day...
Praise God!

Today we spent the mornjng and afternoon serving lunch to the kids of Northview Heights. After lunch we proceeded to play tag, give piggy back rides, play music, basketball, and more! Our hearts are growing to love this community so much.

We spent the morning playing with kids and praying with the community members of Northview Heights. Many piggyback rides and prayers later, we served the kids of the community lunch. We continued to play with the kids after lunch and had many games of red rover, tag, and hair braiding. Even though we were sad to leave, we will continue to pray for the beautiful community of Northview Heights and ask God to move throughout the hearts of the people there. We are thankful for the time we were able to spend at Northview Heights and are excited to see how God continues to work.

“Break our hearts for what breaks Yours.” That was the prayer this week for our team, and the Lord absolutely broke our hearts for the city of Pittsburgh. Prayers were answered, community was formed, and the name of Jesus was spread. All in all, we know two things, God broke our hearts for the city of Pittsburgh and that God’s Love is constantly pursuing us. Continue to pray that as we go home, our hearts will be aflame for Christ and we will continue to tell of the good things He has done for us.
