We are ready for a great morning in the house of the Lord! Were experiencing an English Service, Sunday School, a Creole Hatian Service, and a few of us are leading games for the K-5 church service. Were getting fed and inspired big time for our time of ministry this week!

Today, we got to serve with Miami Children’s Initiative. MCI is an after school program in Liberty City and during the summer it is a summer camp that prepares the students for the next school year. The all around goal of MCI is to break the cycle of poverty and violence in Liberty City by providing these free after school/summer programs and meeting the needs of the community. On average, these kids hear 32 gun shots a night. The sound of gun shots doesn’t seem scary anymore and prison is “inevitable” and “normal.” Please take a look at this amazing partnership Praying Pelican has. We are so blessed to be able to work in this community and meet their basic needs and more! Prayers for this week are welcome as we go deeper and love harder! We are getting to paint a fence, a community bench and one od the cafeterias in the gym! Along with loving on a few of the children at the camp and in the community!

Last ministry day some of us were able to work at Chapman Partnership and serve food to the residents. Between their 2 places they house 800 residents made up of men, women and children. The team worked so incredibly hard and really made a difference for these people.
