Why We Do This - A Story From Puerto Rico

Why We Do This - A Story From Puerto Rico

Mike Rhoades | Aug 5, 2015

Enjoy this incredible story of life change from Kevin, our Puerto Rican operations leader. Last night during our final summer midweek service, we got to hear an amazing testimony of how God works through us. He uses us individually and even more so, collectively. I just have to share it with you all. This week our team has been working alongside a new pastor in the inner city of San Juan. Last night a young Puerto Rican submitted his life to Christ and then shared how God used the team in the process. On Sunday "David" met a few of our team during their prayer walk. He was moved by their encouragement and prayers for him. On Monday one of David's friends met more of the team as they were doing additional prayer walk and evangelism. They invited this gentleman to the prayer service on Tuesday night and he asked David to come along with him. Through Sunday's interaction David decided it would be worth going. During the Tuesday night service one of the team shared his testimony. In a nutshell the team member shared how he had been selfish and it was destroying his life. He came to a point of realization of how much Christ valued him and shared how Christ was restoring him. After the testimony a young lady from the team shared a sermon on the "Samaritan women and Christ the living water". There again in a nutshell nothing is going to satisfy us but Christ. After the evening service David committed his life Christ. Later he shared how God had used the team. He shared how it was the combination of the teams joy, care for others, and the message of hope in Christ that resonated with him. David then shared how on Sunday before he met the team he was planning on killing himself this week, he just didn't see the point of living anymore. Well God showed him the point and used one "our teams" to do it!! God is good!!
